hi everyone. i'm new to this board, so forgive me if my questions are answered elsewhere...i learn quickly!!!

here's our plan so far:

5 nights WL courtyard view
10 day park hopper plus pass

5 nights GF outer standard room CL (room only reservation)

we have not yet included a dining plan. if we do, it will be for the wilderness lodge portion of the trip, as breakfast and all the concierge benefits at the GF would make the dining plan seem excessive. we also do not like to be given a piece of chocolate cake for dessert when we really just want an ice cream later!

we would do the dining plan for just 5 nights during the WL portion of the trip, i'm thinking the deluxe because of the number of signature dining experiences we want to do.

We have booked the following for the WL portion of the trip:
Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast
Hoop-de-doo Review
Fantasmic Brown Derby dinner
Chef Mickey's Breakfast

waiting on:
Wishes - tomorrowland terrace (not booked yet)
Be our Guest lunch (not booked yet, probably won't get an ADR anyway!)

My questions:

Does it make sense to do the deluxe...we will bring snacks/juiceboxes in a suitcase for our kids 7 (daughter) and 5 (son)...and i imagine we'd only do 2 meals a day?

We should choose a meal plan, right?

With the hotels/levels we've chosen, is it likely that we'll get a 30% discount? i sure hope so! dates 7/26-8/5

I appreciate in advance anyone willing to help me out! We are so excited and i love planning this stuff :)

If the rumors are true, then I would say there is a good chance that you would be able to get a room discount plus discounted park tickets. :)

You are going to have to crunch the numbers on the deluxe dining plan. The plan will expire at midnight on the day you check out of the WL, so that is something to consider. You will have the refillable mugs which are nice for the WL, but you wouldn't need them at GF CL.

We had the dining plan on our trip to WL last month. We also went to 'Ohana for dinner on Tuesday, Tusker House breakfast safari on Wed morning and Hoop Dee Doo for dinner on Wed and it was too much food in too short of a time. So that would be one of the down sides of trying to cram all your 2 TS restaurants into 5 or 6 days.

Even though we had the dining plan, I paid for Hoop Dee Doo out of pocket. We booked category 3 seating, and loved our seats in the balcony. I felt like we got a better value for our money by paying out of pocket, since the adult price for Hoop Dee Doo was less then the value of the TS credit.

Well my understanding of the new summer discount is that it will basically be the same percentage as spring.

So with that in mind it would be 20% off GF and WL.

We'll just have to wait and see how much they give for these two resorts.

You can go on the current offer now and find some dates that add up to what you are spending now and price it out that way with the current discount. Try using beginning of June dates and it's about $150 more than July so just keep that in mind.

Good luck to you.pixiedust:

P.S. We'll be there at the same time as you.
