Hi All!

I need major HELP!

I have reserved a 10 day stay at Port Orleans Riverside with tickets for my family of 5 :grouphug: (DH,DS1,DS2,DS3 and me) for June 28th - July 7th. This cost me a total of $3300 :sad2:

I've been trying to decide if we should go ahead and get the AP passes instead . I think this is our best bet and then I can go ahead and plan another trip right after because we don't want to loose our AP's... :teeth: .

My question is: If I call Disney Reservations and tell them that I have an AP will they make the changes? And if any codes come out :worship: before we go can I call Disney Reservations and get the discount?

Am I doing this right? When I go online to Disney and try to book a room only at POR - it says they can't accomodate us.... :confused3

Please Help!

Ely

Are the numbers next to DS (1, 2, 3) their ages?

Hit submit too soon. If one or two of your children are under the age of 3, don't include them when trying to get a quote online at Disney. I had the same problem with my two yo (said it couldn't accomodate us). When I called them instead, the CM told me to just leave him off, since he won't be on the ressies due to his age. I hope that helps. As far as AP, I have no idea :) Looks like we'll be neighbors though :)

Hey Jen...

My boys are Jonathan 9, Nicholas turning 7 at Disney, and Christopher 4. I was able not to include the little one 2 years ago but this year I must :guilty:

Kewl Beans - maybe we'll bump into each other :rotfl2:

Thanks!
Ely

Did you get the dining plan too?

:) I've got to remember to get my lime green ribbons :)

You need to call with 5 at Port Orleans - I know its legal there but for some reason the online site doesn't want to acknowledge 5 there.

Once you change that then you can start waiting for codes (regular and in your case AP codes) to be announced. You will need to make the calls to have the codes added to your reservations ... they are a first come first served deal and are not automatic.

That should bring the price of the trip down some.

Hi Liz

Yup - we have reservations for 5.

So, I should get the AP (purchase a child AP now?) then wait for codes to be announced then call Disney and change everything I had from room/tix to Room Only? :confused3

Thanks - Sorry to be a bother... :sad2:

Are you planning to purchase APs for the whole family in order to cover your next trip? Or are you purchasing one AP so that you can get a room disocunt for both trips?

If you're buying APs to cover both trips for all family members, then go ahead and get them when you have the money together to buy them.

If you're buying one AP in order to secure a room discount, it would be better to hold off buying it until you know that there are AP discount codes available and you've been able to reserve a room for 5 with the code. There are no guarantees that there will be an AP discount for your dates, or that there will be any POR rooms that sleep 5 available with the code if there is one.

I have not purchased any AP's yet but was planning to purchase a Child's AP now and wait for the codes to come out and hopefully I can get a discount on the rooms that I have already booked. I will be purchasing AP's for everyone in the family...

Thanks,
Ely

If you want park hopping, on the thirteenth theme park day the annual pass has beat the regular (MYW) admission in terms of cost.

Without hopping, you can buy two ten day expiring passes for less than one AP.

Rooms booked with the AP rate are not packages and package options like dining cannot be added on. AP benefits do have a meal discont plan called "DDE" whcih I think costs $50. and one passholder can bring a party of up to 10 to many Disney restaurants and get a 20% discount.

You can (and should) try to book a room as soon as you know the AP discount has been made available for your desired dates. You don't need the AP itself until check in.

AFAIK, (and I very well may be wrong!) you cannot use a child's AP to get a room discount. It needs to be in the name of whomever reserves the room. HTH :)

You don't need an AP in hand to apply AP discount codes when they become available, but the person who reserves the room will need one in hand a check-in. I've never been asked for mine, but others have. You will pay rack rate if you are asked for your AP and don't have it at check-in. If you order online, the voucher may be acceptable until you are able to redeem it. Or not. The policy doesn't seem to be applied consistently.

Keep your eyes open for the discount codes and be ready to call immediately and spend time waiting on the telephone. Sometimes the resort/room type you need is booked almost immediately, so have an alternative plan available (connecting rooms at PC?).
