Hi all,
I think I read somewhere some great tips to plan your own renewal(we are celebrating 35 years:yay:).
This person got her own officiant, photographer, flowers and planned the day at the World!
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could direct me where to find info about this.

Thank you all so much for the best info anywhere:cheer2:

not sure if you are talking about a more "on the fly" :scared1:(definitely NOT disney approved!) type situation or an actual vow renewal package type thing? i thnk every wedding package permutation involves procuring your own officiant. try the DFTW wedding site and check out memories packages (available for a short time) and escape packages? then continue to peruse here! there are also non-disney venues in the resort area that offer wedding services, like the swan and dolphin. good luck!

If you want to do it in MK then it will certainly not be cheap! Cost really depends on how many guests you're looking to have. DFTW offers smaller (more affordable) packages if you have under 20 guests. There is also the option of going with a swan/dolphin vow renewal (which is what we're doing) and you can get that for around $1600.

If you're talking about sneaking into a park with an officiant and having a secret wedding then you are asking for trouble. You could end up caught and kicked out of the park. I don't think it is worth the risk.

OMG no no! I didn't mean anything UN Disney!
Sorry maybe this person did the actual renewal offsite. Or maybe she just said she had to get her own person to do it.

I just looked at the special Memories package they are offering that could be an option since we will only be close family members. But did I miss someting? I didn't see a spot on there about any vow renewals, only weddings?

Thanks again

Well, vow renewals basically are weddings, right? Just done with the official part of it. DFTW will help you plan for your VR just the same as they do for weddings.

Yes - it can be confusing, but everything on Disney's site about weddings applies to vow renewals too. Disney treats them interchangeably. The only difference is that VRs don't require you to show a marriage license.

Actually, some ministers do. ;) Go figure! We are having Rev. Jack Day officiate for our vow renewal and he definitely wants a copy of our original marriage license. I'm really not sure why, but I've got a copy made and ready to go! :thumbsup2

I brought a copy of ours as well because our BEO actually said to bring "a copy of certificate if vow renewal" in parens in the section about the couple providing the marriage license. I was surprised but didn't want any glitches. No one every asked for it though!:goodvibes

In this case, I meant that you don't need the license that you send in after the wedding to get your marriage certificate. I have heard that you can be asked to produce the marriage certificate to prove you're already married, so it's good to know that Rev. Jack is one of the more... assiduous officiants. :thumbsup2

He's assiduous and cute as a button! I've only talked to him, not met him yet, and I already adore him! ;)
