Hi, everyone! I'm planning my husband and my first visit to Disney World this September (13th - 18th). It's just the two of us, we don't have any kids. We'll be celebrating a few different things. We'll be there for my husband's birthday, our 5th wedding anniversary, and my birthday lies in the week after our departure. Plus, we'll be celebrating our first visit to 'the World'...

We'll be able to make our ADRs very soon, and I'm thinking I have it narrowed down, but would like some input from people who have eaten at these places. We're also doing the Deluxe Dining Plan.

For my husband's birthday, I'm thinking Le Cellier. I've heard it's a great steakhouse, and he definitely loves steak.

For our anniversary, I'm thinking The California Grill.

Other restaurants I'm thinking of trying are: Teppan Edo, Nine Dragons, Jiko or Boma.

The above would be for dinner. For lunch I'm not as concerned about it, but to sort of celebrate my birthday early I'd like to have some great Italian food, which is my favorite. What is the best Italian restaurant? I've heard mixed reviews about Tutto Italia. So what do you think is the best? Tutto, Tony's Town Square, or Mama Melrose's?

What other restaurants would you say are good ideas for lunch? Also, we're staying that the French Quarter, and heard that the restaurant there isn't so great. Which is a shame, because we had hoped to eat at our own resort at least once, but is it worth it?

Our hopeful plans for the days are...

Light Breakfast.
Play, play, play!
Small snack
Play, play, play!
Lunch (Table service or counter service)
Maybe a water ride like Splash Mountain or Kali River Rapids (If in the area.)
Back to the hotel for a shower, quick change of clothes/nap, back to parks.
Small snack.
Play, play, play!
Dinner (Table service)
Catch either a show, non-thrill ride, or fireworks.
Wander around Downtown Disney or catch some ExMH if available.
Back to hotel to start all over.

Le Cellier is good-but LOUD. I don't think it's romantic at all (don't know if you're going for that.) I prefer the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the YC (you can just walk out of the back of EPCOT, by the countries, to get to it. . .or take a cab from your hotel. It is a little more expensive (and takes 2 TS credits) but it's great-and much quieter. I also like Narcoossee's (only 1 TS), which sits on the lagoon at the Grand Floridian with a view of the Magic Kingdom. You can have a later dinner there and be able to watch the Water Pageant go by around 9 and see the fireworks (if they are scheduled that night) at 10. They have a lot of seafood there, but also a great steak. (I have been with steak-lovers who prefer the steak here to others around the "world.") Maybe you could do Le Cellier for a non-event night ? ? ?

Cali Grill is a fantastic choice for your anni. Love that place! Make sure to try the flatbreads and the goat cheese ravioli!

I also think Jiko is a wonderful choice, and that could also be a good one for your husband's birthday as the filet with mac and cheese is one of the most praised dishes at WDW!

Staying at POFQ, you will be able to take the boat to DTD so you could always grab a dinner down there too. You have to go to Earl of Sandwich for lunch! So good!

I've never had good Italian in Florida in general :) but I have heard really good things about Il Mulino in the Swan Hotel (also located right outside of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios). It is a famous restaurant in NY and they opened a branch down in Florida.

Have fun!

I thought Narcoossee's was two... Is it really only 1 TS??

I would avoid Nine Dragons.

We love Le Cellier but you might also try Yachtsman for a great steak.

IMHO, it's good but far from great. It's not the best steak in WDW, but it is a 1TS restaurant.

For our anniversary, I'm thinking The California Grill.

Excellent choice for a signature restaurant. However, my personal favorite is Narcoossee's. I love the surf & Turf

Other restaurants I'm thinking of trying are: Teppan Edo, Nine Dragons, Jiko or Boma.

Teppan Edo is a lot of fun and the food is pretty good as well. The food is prepared hibachi style in front of you. Jiko is another of my favorites but it is a 2TS restaurant(well worth it though). Boma, again IMHO is a restaurant that lives up to all the hype. It is one of the best buffet restaurants I have ever eaten at; a must do everytime.
.

My opinions are above. Remember though, these are only my opinions. ;)
