Okay, I am feeling overwhelmed... we leave next week, and I am trying to get some last minute things done... I work all weekend and then it's off to the world!

I am the WORST packer ever, so I am hoping for some tips on what to bring. I am the type that is always forgetting something and then end up spending more $$$ on it at the hotel gift shop... TIA for your suggestions!

Hi,

Make a list and check off things while you pack!

Don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, etc.

Comfy shoes and socks, band aids etc. if you need it for blisters.

Any necessary meds, plus Tylenol, etc. in tiny travel amounts.

Personal items, toothbrush etc.

Swimsuit

I always pack outfits so I don't have to spend time deciding what goes with what.

If you have kids, here's something that worked for me. My youngest DD is terrible at dressing herself as far as what top to wear with what shorts. Before we left, I matched shirts and tops, and packed each in a large ziplock bag, along with underwear, socks, pony-tail holders, anything she'd need. You can really squish things in and make the bag as flat as possible. Then I just put all her bags in the luggage, so each day she'd choose one and have everything she needed.

We also did laundry one morning, but I'd try to avoid that if possible!! LOL

Good luck and have fun!

Oh, my! You'll need to fill in things specific to you and your family. Here goes!

Personal Care Basics

Hairbrush/Comb
Shampoo/Conditioner
Hair styling products/fasteners
Toothbrush/Toothpaste
Soap/Shower gel/Facial Cleanser
Lotion/Cream
Tweezers
Manicure scissors (be sure to pack tweezer & scissors in your checked bags, please)
Sunscreen SPF 30 or higher
Insect Repellant with DEET
Sunglasses
Contact lenses/Solutions/Eyeglasses (extra pair of lenses for emergencies)
Small bottle of dishwashing detergent (I use a 2 oz. paint bottle from the craft store). Useful for quick hand-wash of favored garments!

Clothing Basics

I prefer to do laundry every four or five days, rather than take a lot of stuff.

Tops, 4 or 5 lightweight, light color, hot-weather tops to coordinate with
Bottoms, 4 or 5 lightweight, light color, hot weather appropriate
If taking all shorts or capris, pack one pair of lightweight slacks that will coordinate with the tops. Nice for dressing up a bit or slightly cooler environments (A/C, unlikely drop in temperature/humidity)
1 lightweight sweater or jacket for extended time in A/C
Swimsuit (1 if occasional swimmer, 2 if frequent swimmer)
5 sets of neutral color underwear. Don't forget, you'll get wet on many rides and guess what will show through your clothing?
2 pairs of very comfortable, well broken-in shoes/sandals. DO NOT WEAR NEW FOOTWEAR!
If taking sneakers/trainers, 4 or 5 pairs of socks. You'll have to change them if they get wet, and they take a while to dry.
Sleepwear

It's going to be hot and humid, so pack accordingly. Wet stuff takes forever to dry.

Minimize jewelry. Don't take anything with significant monetary or sentimental value. I usually wear one pair of hoops on the plane (5-hour flight), my watch & rings, and pack one spare pair of earrings and an extra stem-wind watch (battery has a tendency to die when I travel--bad timing!).

Minimize cosmetics. Unless you're one of those who doesn't perspire, much less sweat, you probably won't wear much while at WDW. Streaky make-up is worse than no make-up!

Miscellaneous

Disposable ponchos (2 or 3, depending on length of stay). We didn't wear them, but it was nice to sit on them on wet benches!
Cable ties for luggage
Blunt-noses scissor for removing cable ties (tie them to a ribbon and attach it to the zipper pull in a small outer pocket on your checked bag).
Soft-side cooler (if you won't make a grocery stop to purchase a styrofoam one). I always travel with a 6-can cooler, which will accommodate the .5 litre (16.9 oz) water bottles when laid flat.

Okay, it's a start. I'm sure others will post and you can copy and paste into a word processing program and sort out what you really need!

Have a magical trip!

Things that I also bring include

An ID that I make for the kids in case we get seperated with our cell phone and the hotel we are staying at.

Film

Tickets

Confirmation Numbers for flights and priority seatings

AAA card if Driving

Directions-Ok I have forgotten these before and it makes my husband really ugly.

Autograph books we make at home

I always pack disposable cameras for the kids. See the magic through their eyes.

Great suggestions.... there are so many things that I would have forgotten already!

Film, film and more film. ;) And check your camera to see what batteries it takes and either replace or take a spare set. If you've made any reservations/priority seatings take a printout of all numbers, times and phone numbers (in case you need to cancel). These I usually print on colored index cards then hole punch and place on a key ring...keeps it tidy and compact. If you'll be buying quite a bit of things to take home it's a good idea to pack an empty duffel bag. Or if you're taking snacks that bag could then be used on the return trip for souveniors.

Helps you organize your stuf in the bathrooms.

Put bottles and toiletries in and whatever stuff you keep on the bathroom vanity organized.

Got this from the other forums.

Get the organizers at the dollar stores!!
