I see that DVCer's check in at 4pm instead of usual 11 am for normal resort check in time. THat is kind of late for the first day on the resort and my question is this...

Do we still get "charged" the full amount of pts for that day? It seems kind of rough to lose that many points for a day we only get to begin at 4 pm.

Thanks.

The check-in time of 4 PM just means that your room MAY not be ready till 4 PM. You can check in at any time. And, there's a good chance your room will be ready.

BTW, check-in for the other resorts is 3 PM, not 11 AM. So, it's really not any different than any of the other WDW resorts. Out of many DVC stays, it's only been twice that I've gotten the room in the late afternoon. I've gotten into a room at VWL at 8 in the morning.

Check out is 11....not checkin.
WDW regular resort checkin is at 3
Only 1hr difference for the villas checking in at 4. Like PP said....

Forgot to add....and even if your room isn't ready till the late afternoon, it doesn't mean that you lose a day.

If your room isn't ready when you check in, they'll give you your resort ID, dining credits if you have the DDP, and your info packet. They'll also give you a card with a number to call to find out if your room is ready. You can check your bags with Bell Services, and head out to enjoy the parks. Or, use the changing facilities by the pool and have a swim.

And just like at any resort or hotel, you are not charged points for "days" there, but for "nights." So for all practical purposes, you stay 5 nights and only use 5 night's worth of points and still have 6 days in the parks, since you can get your park tickets and other things any time during the day of check-in, even if your room is not ready yet, and on the day of check-out, you can have bell services store your luggage until you are ready to leave for the airport and/or home, even if you aren't leaving until after the check-out time.
