Trying to get up the courage for Everest

I don't like drops & heights. The 3 rides I refuse to ride are TOT, RRC, and Everest. Didn't ride Splash mountain last time either. I heard the theming is amazing on Everest. Is there a point I could duck out but still see the majority of it? I heard you can duck out at the elevators at TOT...We probably won't be back for about 5 years, so I really would like to conquer Everest. I love BTMRR and even Space Mtn. Can you compare Everest to these?

You can do it, and not only that...I suspect you'll love it! It is very smooth and I don't like drops either, but the "drop" on EE is extremely mild IMO. It's my favorite Disney coaster. I actually don't like SM or RRC so I won't go on them anymore, and I'll only go on TOT every 5 years or so (and only if I'm feeling brave). But I have a fear of heights and the initial climb of EE freaks me out a little on my first ride because it's wide open on either side, so I just close my eyes. Just close your eyes if you get too scared and it's over before you know it. Trust us...it's amazing.

If you don't like drops and still want to conquer the mountain sit on the front row or closer to the front row, the drop won't feel as fast.
Every ride at Disney has a "chicken exit" so you can still do the standby line and duck out.
It is definitely worth going through the que, as it is like a little Yeti museum!...you walk through that.

IF you decide to ride, it is worth asking to sit up.front....it will mke you feel less queasy when it goes backward. For someone who does not like what you don't like, it is intense, but beautiful views. When I go backward, I close my eyes.

BTW...TOT is not at all queasy, but I live on the 22nd floor.

I honestly think that Everest is the most inventive Disney roller coasters I've ever been on. (Unfortunately, the main Yeti animatronic doesn't work anymore -- and it was an impressive feat of Imagineering -- but that still doesn't change my opinion of this ride.)

I'd echo the others on here. That main drop looks so intense when you see it from the outside, but after riding it, I had to remind myself that it existed at all... it's so smooth that I didn't realize how steep it was until looking at the track afterwards.

One tip for people who normally dislike rollercoasters: if you let yourself figuratively lean into the drops, as if you're intentionally racing down the track, it's a lot more good-thrilling and a lot less bad-scary than if you imagine that you're completely out of control and being thrown over against your will.

I agree with everyone else. If you give it a try I bet you will like it. I just returned from a trip in April. I had been on all these rides before yet was, for some reason, feeling hesitant. Heck, I'm 7 years older now than last time I was there! But I loved them all. In fact, I was surprised at how the TOT was - I never even got that feeling in my stomach that we were dropping. Not even once. And after EE I thought, "Oh that's it". All have great are greatly themed and well worth it.

Space is WAY worse than EE. EE is fantastic, and would be my choice of the ONE ride to ride over and over at WDW. It is just that much fun!

I LOVE Space, RNR, and TOT. I used to be able to ride EE but the most recent time on it the part where you go downhill backwards in the dark was way too disorienting and the G force made me really motion sickness. No other ride has ever had an effect on me like that. The rest of the ride is much more tame than the others so if you think you can handle the backwards part, I would give it a shot! If not, the things to look at it in the queue are worth staying in the line for if you decide not to ride it.

The theming is amazing and the view from the car as you ascend up the hill can't be beat.

Give it a try and I think you will have a blast.......good luck!!
