So I'm attempting a quick wkend trip this week may3-5. Value resorts booked :( but I'm considering DTD but I don't know anything ab anyone of them. And I deleted my mouse savers email :(

Can anyone point me in the right direction or any advice? It's a solo trip and spur of the moment to get a little disney magic in a very challenging time in my life. Thanks for any help!

Check out hotels/motels on Palm Pkwy - there's a Hawthorne Suites that is usually very reasonable with 2 rooms/kitchen - it's easy to get in and out of - restaurants nearby and DTD entrance VERY close - but you don't have pay the prices of the Hotel Plaza Blvd DTD hotels.... BUT if you won't have your own car - the DTD hotels have a bus system - and probably the best rates could be found at the Best Western - (we've stayed at the Hilton, the Buena Vista Palace and the Wyndam - and were happy with them but the $$$ can get a little much....)

Hope you're able to make that quick getaway - I know how good some WDW Magic can be when times are tough pixiedust:

This link will take you to Mousesavers with extensive information on each DTD hotel. A little way down the page where the hotel names are highlighted in red, it will take you to information about that particular hotel, and any discounts Mousesavers readers can get there.
I know you still get Extra Magic Hours at the Hilton. Not sure about the others.
Good Luck:thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the great advice. Ill start looking into all of these!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Walt Disney World, which is one of the DTD hotels. It was the newest last year when we were there. Stayed 10 nights and were happy with our stay. The price was great as well.

The buses are wonderful. They run every half hour and are very dependable. DTD hotels are the only offsite hotels I personally would stay at without a car. Transportation isn't a problem to any of the Disney parks.

The rooms were nice and clean, had a mini fridge and microwave in each room. Make sure you ask for a room with a balcony when you check in if you want one, because there are some that don't have the balcony. We were put in one at first, but went to the front desk asking to be switched to a room with a balcony and it wasn't a problem. The staff were all very nice.

The pool was nice as well. You could walk to downtown disney in about 10 mins. It was a very nice walk along a nice sidewalk path. In the other direction if you walk 10 mins there is a small mall with grocery store and some off site dining options.

We have stayed at the BW in DTD a few times nice large rooms & Balconies. Doubletree nice suites & cookies. BV Palace was very nice. Holiday Inn when it was a Marriott liked it. Royal Plaza it was ok, the least friendly of all of them.

BW tends to be the cheapest of them & we have had awesome service there. The resturant was not the best.
