Why would a guy do this?

I liked this boy alot.
He liked me alot.
We somewhat like hooked up but never actually asked eachother out because he went to camp the day after I realized I liked him and I think he did to.
My bff said that at camp he was miserable and didnt flirt or anything with girls, only talked about me.
The last two days of camp he meets this girl and she asks him out. They go out and he totally forgets about me.
So he comes home and has himself a girlfriend who isnt me. I find it amazing how he can totally forget about me and fall in love in 3 days.

I dont want to seem selfish or anything but I am trying to figure out how this could happen.

Usually, if you're 11 or 12 boys don't say that they like you. I know one of my guy friends likes me. But he won't admit it. I hang around with his friends (which are my friends too) so idk if he likes me or not. But does it seem obvious? (to his friends)

Aw hunni I'm sorry. Some guys do that because especially at that age...they have NO idea what they want except for attention from a female. Sometimes they just get confused and end up acting like total jerks.

omg wow i had the same thing happen to me last year!!!!!! except my story and outcome are a little different, anyway here it is:
well i go to the same camp (sleepaway) as he does and we were friends before camp started and we got really close over time when camp was over we hooked up on the bus back home then said our goodbyes. camp wasn't officially over there were 2 weeks left that i didn't go to. his first week back he was the same as ur guy, not very talkative and didn't flirt with any girls. then his last week there a friend of both of ours (!) asked him out! and he said yes! i was sooooooo confused. when he got back i asked his best friend what was up and he was like well he doesn't really like her he's just trying to distract himself from being sad! it was cute but SO stupid! we're still really good friends now and it always feels like there could be something there but nothings happened since...

anyway just comparing it to your story made me guess that your guy was either trying to make you jealous or trying to "get over" you in a sense so he would't be so miserable all week

if your trying to get over him good for you! it took me so long to get over this guy (kevin) hopefully you guys can be good friends and maybe something could happen in the future...

Hehe thanks. Well he moved today. I know sudden so he has her now I guess and can go live his little life =]
