Trying to figure out something extra to do to celebrate.

My wife and I will be heading to Disney World for the first week of December. Both of us just recently had some big things happen for us in our careers and we'd like to do a little extra something at Disney World to celebrate and splurge a little.

Of course we could go out for some fancier dinner but that isn't the type of people we are. We are more dessert party type people. The only problem is that all the dessert parties during our stay show no availability. So here I am looking for suggestions! It doesn't have to revolve around food, just something extra special we could do that we wouldn't normally do.

My preference is to find something at Epcot since that is where we will be on our first day.

Have you tried calling versus looking on line? The dining reservations cast members may know of other things such as fireworks boat cruises that may interest you.

Haven't done any calling. Just trying to get a feel of some things other people have done. My goal is to find something special at Epcot since that will be where we will go on our first day of our trip. The Frozen dessert party isn't even offered on that day and I know they have the fireworks cruises but they don't really interest us for what you get for the price.

So maybe there's something else special that people do at Epcot. Looking to find out!

Have you considered a fireworks cruise? They could be all sold out too. We just booked one for our late January trip for an Illuminations Cruise. Or, what about the Highway in the Sky Dine around? Yes, it's a dinner, but traveling to various resorts could be fun.

Whoops, just saw your comment on the cruise. I guess it's all relative. I thought the price was pretty inexpensive for a chartered boat tour for around 1.5 hours or so.

Ideas
Fireworks cruise (viewing MK or EPCOT)
Make your own picnic from France (good drinks there too) and stake out a great location to watch IllumiNations
Take a Behind the Scenes tour
Find entertainment in Disney Springs
Rent your own boat and cruise the lakes or canal

I think what mostly turns me off from the cruise is that all you're paying for is the view of the fireworks from the boat. If it came with some stuff like desserts and what not I'd feel better about it.

Well, it comes with pop, water, and snacks. And a tour before the fireworks (I think you go down to HS and then come back). The captain generally provides trivia and a mini tour.

I'm pretty sure the MK one includes desserts and drinks.

If Wishes was still around I'd definitely be considering an MK fireworks cruise more. We haven't seen Happily Ever After yet and don't like the idea of a cruise for that since a big part of the show is the projections on the castle. We are also going to MVMCP so it wouldn't make much sense for us to pay for a fireworks cruise when we are already paying for the party. (if they even offer fireworks cruises for holiday wishes during parties)

Share a Warsteiner Dunkel and Pretzel at Germany. That thing hit the spot at about 1PM over the Summer.
