Trying to decide...Tassimo vs Keurig

I have a Tassimo and I love it. I chose Tassimo because it has the Starbuck's coffee, Starbuck's is the only coffee I drink. I was skeptical about how good it would be but I have to say that it's REALLY good!

Tassimo question: What is in the cuppaccinos and lattes? Powdered milk? Is there sugar already in it or can you make them sugar free?

I haven't found an instant type of cappuccino that I care for, so I am just curious.

There are two discs for lattes and cappuccinos. One is an espresso disc, and the other is a milk disk. The milk disk is liquid milk, and I'm guessing it's a concentrated milk. There is no sugar added, other than the sugar that occurs in milk. Here's a link with some nutrition info on the Starbucks Latte Primo.

Is it a refrigerated milk or a shelf stable milk? I am just curious about taste.

Ok, I see the ingredients now.....they have sugar. Darn.

It's a shelf-stable milk. It's really very good. I've tried all the lattes for the Tassimo, and the Starbucks one is my favorite. The Jacobs comes in a close second.

Wow, with these bad reviews I no longer want one!!!

We have a hard enough time with our reg. coffee maker and our hard water. If the Keurig is that finicky, it won't make it in my house for too long.

I love my Keurig! I have had it for 2 1/2 years, heavy usage.
My mother has the same one and had to replace hers after 6 months.

I guess it's hit or miss :confused3

I just ordered a Keurig online on Friday from Amazon. My son wanted one for Christmas, so I just ordered it without reviewing it. After reading the reviews here, I sure hope it is a good one for him!:confused3

Awww...this was on my Christmas list this year. Now I'm reading all these negative reviews and now I'm not so sure I want to sink money into this thing if it's going to be a difficult child. Was it one model over another that seems to be more quirky or troublesome? Or maybe a special edition that was made for lets, say QVC or Costco, or BJ's etc. that ended up being not so great?

Aaak, I just ordered one yesterday after reading how much everyone loves them. I will probably only make one cup a day, sometimes two cups.

When the machine stops working properly, do you have to mail it back in? Does Keurig pay for the postage?

Just got my third machine yesterday after the first two broke. There is a known issue with the pump of the platinum model. When this one dies - and I'm sure it will - I'm done.
You're only required to send back the k-cup holder when you receive a replacement machine.

I wish I had a Tassimo. The hot chocolate is the best. So far, I haven't been able to justify the cost.

After looking at Amazon quickly at pricing, they're not that much more. The Tassimo looks to be about $169. The Kuerig Platinum is $149. The special edition is $119.

I know of a lot people who have had trouble with the Keurigs but not many who have had a problem with Tassimos. With that said I think the keurig is more popular and even those who have had trouble with it still love it!
