I have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew that I LOVE, but during the week don't have time in the morning to deal with it. (I'm lazy and barely get out the door in time) ;) Plus I'd like a way to have decaf or tea in the evenings without having to make an entire pot.

So I've decided I want to buy either a Tassimo or Keurig, have been reading all the reviews online and am still torn. Anyone have an opinion of one over the other?

THANKS!

I LOVE my Keurig!!!

I wake up and it's the first thing I do... choose my flavor, pop it in, and enjoy!

My Keurig gets me through the mornings. LOVE it. The coffee is delicious.

A word of warning on the Keurig- we've been through 4 machines since last December. The company will send you a replacement machine when yours does fail, their customer service is very good.

A little background: my husband is a pretty heavy coffee drinker and between the two of us we go through about 10 to 12 k cups a day. After a month the first machine started turning off and then the cup sizes would be all wrong, you'd get an espresso cup for the largest size. So we sent that one back and received another. Like I said we are currently on our 4 th machine and that one is soon to be toast as well. I'm not sure what is wrong with the units, and we have descaled it, filled it up with vinegar, blow out every 4th cup with just water, you name it. After about 2 months we start getting tiny cups of coffee and it takes about a minute for even that to come through.

The coffee is excellent, and maybe if you go through 3 or 4 cups a day, it might last longer, but I'm actually shocked by what a poor machine it is for it's pricepoint.

I have the same problem & we only use about 3 k cups a day. I'm on my 3rd machine in 1 year. I have an original Keurig from years ago that works wonderful but the platinum keeps breaking.

Same problem here w/ 1 to 2 cups per day. DH doesn't think it was worth the money.

I drink from 6-10 cups of coffee a day and my lasted a year.

I bought the Tassimo last year instead of the Keurig because it made latte's/ Cappuccino's...I like the foam

You know I love my Keurig. I got it last November and it's still working fine. I usually only make about one cup a day, maybe two on the weekends.

I have a Tassimo, and I the reason I bought it was for the lattes and cappucinos. You can't make those with a Keurig. That said, the Keurig has a larger selection of coffee brands/flavors. I am on my second Tassimo. I bought my first one a few years ago, and when the new style came out, I got one of those. My husband took our old Tassimo to work and uses it just about every day. The newer one gets used 1-2x a day, and has since they came out about 2 years ago. I (knock on wood) haven't had an ounce of trouble out of either one of them.

FWIW, QVC is having a Keurig TSV soon. It will be the Platium series for $139 plus 60 K-cups.

I love my Tassimo and starbucks lattes!!!! I ordered the starbucks white chocolate mocha sauce online and now I can I have my iced venti white chocolate mocha everyday for the fraction of the cost!!!!

My first Keurig lasted through maybe 50 K-cups before the pump went out. I only drink one K-cup a day, and DH doesn't drink coffee at all. The company sent me a new one right away, but I don't have much faith that it's going to last any longer than the first one. I think Keurigs are highly overrated and way over priced. Read the reviews on them before you buy, especially reviews from people who've owned them longer than a month or two.

I'll have had my Keurig for going on 3 years in December. It still works like the day I bought it.

I prefer the Keurig because they make Timothy's and Tully's k-cups, which are my preference. Tassimo seems to be heavily slanted towards Starbucks coffees, which I really can't stand. I also like having the My K-Cup reusable cup option to use your own coffee.... I haven't used it in over a year because I'm too lazy to fill and clean it, but I like that it exists. :lmao:

I have two Keurig's. The full size one we got from BJ's and the mini that I keep in my office & use for travel. Between DH & I we average 6-8 cups/day on the big one & about 4-5 on my mini.

I like them for the convenience, especially the mini for travel. I've had them since April/May & so far, so good.

I love my Keurig (Platinum). I got it for Christmas last year. There's an amazing variety of coffees, teas, and hot chocolates. They even have iced coffees and teas. I LOVE LOVE the iced coffees. This year, they also have hot apple cider for the first time. I also have the reusable cup for making my own coffee beverages - I prefer decaf, and sadly there are not as many options for decaf coffee. So I can buy any decaf and use it in my reusable K-cup. You can buy the K-cups from the store, Keurig, or Green Mountain Coffee - or any online coffee shop.

As far as all the complaints, after just a few months my machine was also doing the same problem of taking forever to just make a few drops. We called Customer Service and he asked what do I usually make in it - at that time, it was just hot chocolate (I was pregnant - no coffee for me). He asked if I run an empty cup of water after each brew. I do. He said, well actually you should run a couple more after.

So now, I run three empty brews (on the smallest setting) after each brew - no matter what I'm drinking. I descale the machine once a month with white wine vinegar. And if there's a day I am not going to drink from it, I run one empty brew to keep the water flowing through it. I also only use filtered water in the machine. Ever since I started taking care of the machine, I have never had a single problem with it. And it does get used a lot.

My word of warning is if you don't plan on taking care of the machine, then you will have all the same problems everyone else does. My fiance thinks its a waste of water and power to keep running empty cups after each brew, but it keeps the machine working - and it's actually hygienic, when you see all the old stuff that is coming out in each empty brew, it's kind of gross.

My kuerig quit working this past weekend. I was devistatated!! It had been leaking recently and would turn off randomly. I hope they replace it. I really miss it.

We have a Keurig and love it, got it last November, and haven't had any problems with it at all. I don't drink coffee, and the green mountain chai latte is EXCELLENT, also my children drink hot chocolate and one is very fond of the new mocha latte kcups that are out. My husband uses it EVERY day, usually 2 or 3 per day, I do my chai probably 3 or 4 times weekly, and the kids a couple times per week, we do use filtered water and have a filter in it, but have never had to run empty ones and never had a problem with it.

I do take care of mine. I know how to work it & always run through just water cups, descale it etc & they keep breaking. Like I said it's just the platinum one. My original one from way back in the day still works like a chram but it only makes 1 size cup.

Me too- I do the same thing - which is actually ridiculous considering we has a regular old Krups coffee maker that made excellent coffee for 10 years and all I ever did was clean it out with vinegar once a year.

I run empty cups all the time, sadly, it doesn't really help.
