Trying to decide on Golf

If you're not sure about bringing your clubs, why don't you rent clubs for one day and see how you like it. My DH has done that several times when he's only planning on one day of golf. He says that the rental clubs are beautiful and top quality and reasonable. He's also left-handed and they always have enough of those on hand which is very unusual. My DH has always had a great time making his tee time and taking his chances on his golf partners and they've been great. Try it and have a good time.

We are planning to set up tee times for the following:

December 29 @ Magnolia GC (around 2pm)

January 2 @ Osprey Ridge GC (10am)

We are a twosome. Anyone else going to be there at that time??
Figure it never hurts to ask! :)

I haven't played golf in 20 years, but my two sons ages 13 and 14 have been bugging me about taking them out on a "real" course. Anyone have experience on the oak ridge 9 hole course. Do they have lessons before we go out? Do they rent clubs. Would 3 rank amatuers hacking up the course 10 yards a stroke be too much for this course? ANy feedback here would be apreciated. We'll be playing on 12/30 if my sons talk me into it.

Also would the DVC golf membership cover this course? Maybe it would be worthwhile if we come back next summer.

My only experience with Oak Trail was in 1989, when the resort there was the Disney Inn! At that time, DH (who's a scratch golfer) and DS (9 yo, had never played golf before) went golfing there. It's always seemed impressive that 2 golfers, of opposite "ability levels" both had a great time there. No one was bored nor overly frustrated. At that time, both golfers rented clubs, which DH said were of great quality. But I don't think DVC discount applies there (not sure though).
