I would like to know from everyone their favorite 2 BR, based on the room/resort and not so much the location. I understand those that like Epcot are going to prefer BWV/BCV and those that love MK(me) are going to say BLT/VWL...

We are going in February with my parents and currently have a 2BR booked, but I am trying to determine if the extra points are "worth" it. I understand it is a question only I can answer, just would like some feedback on the 2 BR's!! TIA

If you are going with another set of adults, 2BR's are definitely worth it. The only other thing I would consider would be two studios or two 1BR's so each could have their total privacy.

You didn't say if the alternative to the 2BR is a 1BR or a studio. A studio with four adults....absolutely no way does that work for me.

When we take our two daughters, we have booked a 2BR ever since they were teenagers. They like a little bit of privacy, and it frees up the living room for someone to watch television or make coffee or anything else without disturbing the inhabitants.

Also critical is getting an additional bathroom.

If you decide not to "upgrade" and are going to get a 1BR I'd either get a AKV-Kidani so you'd get the extra bathroom or else an OKW for the general villa size. But as I said, for us it is always a 2BR with four people or a 1BR for just DW and me. :)

Loved BLT because of the size of the even numbered unit and large windows.

Loved OKW because of the size and large windows.

SSR was great for walking around the grounds, but the living room was on the small size for four adults.

AKV was great for the animals, but there wasn't anyplace to walk around like some of the other resorts.

BCV has the fantastic pool which I love, but smaller living room.

VWL had nice theming but I wasn't too happy with the condition of my unit.

We will be down this Feb. too and we are staying at BCV and OKW.

Go for the one you have and then try a different one next time. They all have something special.

My favorite 2 bedroom villa is at Old Key West. Old Key West is the only DVC resort that you will find 2 queen size beds in the second bedroom as all studios at OKW have 2 queens.

There are some dedicated 2 bedrooms in other DVC resorts that will have 2 queens, but those are few and far between.

If you are talking about the room, nothing beats OKW.. Lots of space. OKW one and two bedroom villas are noticeably larger than the other DVC locations. Also, Full beds, large deck, full size laundry room, and giant jacuzzi tub for two. As a bonus, most, if not all of OKW rooms will have been rennovated with new stuff by Feb. ;)

My view:

Best: BWV boardwalk view, one of best views anywhere on site, plus resort itself gives you restaurants, night club, dance hall, nightly entertainment on boardwalk, ESPN Club.

Also best: AKL savanna view. Resort has great restaurants, good pools, view of animals, and if you go with Kidani the 2BR's are fantastic -- about 90 sq ft larger than those at BWV, SSR, VWL, BCV and AKV Jambo -- and the Kidani 2BRs have 3 bathrooms. Bus system with only two AKL stops and no sharing with other resorts is very good in comparison to other DVC resorts.

depends I actually prefer two studios.

that say alot depends upon you

the whirlpool tub in the master bath is definitely worth the extra points. having your own kitchen is great (much better than the Kitchennett in a studio), the washer/dryer are nice = but the ones in the laundry mat are bigger and they have 2 dryers for every washer - so you can separate your wash.

guess it is up to you.

my favorite is BLT - like the living room set up - and the kitchen area. Now OKW is definitely bigger - but love BLT.

it also has 3 bathrooms in the 2 bedroom (2 in the 1-bedroom)

that say to cheap to stay in even the 1-bedroom - much rather the 2-bedroom.

We've stayed in 2 br villas at BWV, OKW, VWL, and BCV. I love the size of the OKW units. That being said, I really like the BWV location the best. We've also stayed in dedicated 2 br units at both BCV and VWL. The amount of space in the dedicated units is really nice too. With 4 adults, definitely get the 2br units.

You just can't beat the combination of size AND 3 bathrooms at BLT and AKV (though I greatly prefer BLT).

Two bedrooms are definitely worth it for 2 couples. We prefer OKW because of the huge common area between the Master and the second bedroom. The common areas at the other DVC resorts seems so small in comparison. We especially like the huge dining porch at OKW also. My second choice is AKV, but that has more to do with location than the villa, and you said you wanted to take that out of the equation. My least favorite 2 bedroom given the parameters of your quest would be anything other than OKW. It just is so much more comfortable than the rest, and it has a completely different type of layout.

I don't prefer 2 bedrooms at BWV because they are all lockoffs. I loved the dedicated two bedroom at SSR. We thought it was a beautiful, quiet resort. We enjoyed the 2 bedrooms at Kidani and BLT for the extra bathroom. Of all of them I LOVED the location of BLT the best. I loved the look of SSR the best.

Thanks to all those that chimed in. I think we are going to stick with the 2BR at BLT. We just got back from a stay in a studio, and the location doesnt get any better for us, huge MK fans, Im just a big kid that can't grow up once I get on property!

I saw the dedicated 2 BR while we were on property and I love the layout and I think my parents will as well, we will have them plus my little sister and them DW and myself. I was going to go with 2 studios, but I want to be able to stay all together, plus I want to stay in a 1 BR eventually and this just works out better to get the 2 BR.

Lots of rambling, but to sum it all up, Thanks for the advice and info!!

I agree. SSR has small living rooms that are tight for even 4 adults. We usually stay in the two bedroom at SSR with 3 adults and 2 teens and it drives me crazy how I usually end up sitting at the table in the night time - just not enough room (seats) in the living room.

Why not try the Tree House at SSR? For the price of a 2-bedroom, you get 3 bedrooms.

My fav two bedroom is AKV. There's three full bathrooms, and for the dedicated two bedrooms, there's two queens in the second bedroom. For walking around and enjoying the resort, you've got the animal viewing areas, the pool area, a walk to the lounge for drinks and appetizers, and if I remember correctly there's like a little tour of the resort with information about the art and africa. There's also the fire pit at Jambo (don't remember if there's one at Kidani) for cozy comfy relaxing and hanging out.

Enjoy planning!

May be a stupid question, but do all 2 BR's have 2 bathrooms?
