Or maybe both :rolleyes1

I've been lurking here for a while so I thought I would come on in and carve out my spot. :)

Our anniversary is 12/31. I have decided to start now with preparations for our 10th anniversary which will be in 2009.

I hit a block when it comes to deciding where we should have our celebration. If we cruise, I would prefer to do our ceremony a few days later since price should drop since it would be the off season. But if we do a land we can "maybe" have our ceremony on our actual day. The only draw back being it will be very busy at WDW since it is 1) the holiday season and 2) That year NYE is on a weekday (so people will be there longer- which can be a plus for getting more guests).

Help with my pro and con list:

Cruise:
Pros:
New ports and its cruising which we love

Cons:
Cost for guests
Have to wait a week or two until after our anniversary for our renewal ceremony
Not that many guests (we want to go for 7 days since we usually do 4)

Land
Pros
We get to bring family members who have never been to WDW
More guests will be able to come
Might be cheaper for some guests

Cons:
Crowds
(yeah couldn't think of more).

I would love to be able to do both (which is a possibility) but right now I am operating on a one or the other premise right now.

I can think of some more cons for "land" if you like! :rotfl:

12/31 is THE most expensive time to be at WDW - high hotel rates, higher minimums on Wishes weddings (Escape wedding price would stay the same), even higher holiday prices in some restaurants. It might be a burden on your guests, beyond having to travel during the holiday season and being surrounded by crowds.

However...if you're going to wait a few weeks to do it on the cruise, you could also wait a few weeks to do it on land, and it'd be way cheaper. So basically, I'm no help at all! :cutie:

My vote is for the off season, whichever one ya pick!

Or...you can take the cruise first and then do your VR after the crowds die down. That way you get a little bit of both...but what can I say! I just like to have the best of both worlds.
