We're planning a trip to DL at the end of April. We usually go to WDW ( I haven't been to DL since I was 11 and DH and DS's have never been) but have just moved to the west coast so are headed for Cali.
We are looking for inexpensive lodging close to the park. I have good rates resverved for the BW Park Place Inn and the Desert Inn & Suites. I am hoping people who have stayed at either one in the past will help me decide which is the better choice. We are traveling with my sister and mother so need accomidations for 6 people. So please help us choose...thanks.

I have heard great things about the BW park place inn. I'd say it would be your best bet. Have a great time!

We are going April 24-28 and got a rate at the Desert Inn for $59 a night (basic room, suites were more). BWPPI was $89.10 per night with a AAA discount. I booked via their website http://www.anaheimdesertinn.com/ you can get rates for your dates and check out their pictures and descriptions.

I haven't stayed at either, so no help there. Desert Inn has an indoor pool, though, BWPPI only has an outdoor one.

We stayed at BW PPI last year and this year plan to do Dessert Inn. We stayed in a mini suite last year and it was ok. The hotel lost our reservation though and the other complaint we had was with the cleaning staff. Our room was only cleaned 2 out of the nights we were there. Only one day did we tell them not to bother. As far as distance you are looking at about 1-2 minute difference. It also depends if you are staying at the front or back of the hotel. The pool at PPI is really small. Being from AZ it was a little too cold for me to let my children swim, but those from the colder states were in the pool all the time. Breakfast was ok. You also had an option of getting pancakes at the restaurant instead of the continental upstairs. Both places have micro and fridge.

I think it is a toss up. This year we went for cost. Desert Inn was much cheaper ($30 a night). Good luck. You can search these boards for comments from other people or go to tripadvisor and read those for more information.

Thanks so much for the feedback...at this point we are still undecided, possibly leaning towards the Desert Inn. It does save money and so far I don't see any great benefit to BWPPI that outweighs the extra cost. Please, anyone else who has experience with these hotels feel free to wiegh in...thanks again. :thumbsup2
