We are booked at AKL for 12/11 to 12/20 in a standard room. With all the construction I'm worried and want to change resorts, to either CR (garden wing, standard) or GF (garden wing) or WL (standard). I know I'm loosing it wanting to stay at GF, but I figure with 40% off, we'll probably never be able to afford this hotel and would love to try it. CRO are saying all of these are booked. Do you think any of these will ever open? Should I just give up and stay at AKL (never stayed there before). Linda

Click on the link "Changing a 40% Off Reservation" in my signature.

Follow the directions.

The ONLY people who can help you with this - are guest services. Be firm, but polite and ask the CM to check with Guest Services on your behalf.

They might refuse. If they do, ask to speak to a supervisor about the matter.

CRO will ALWAYS show ZERO availability for changing resorts after the booking window has passed; like it has for the 40% off promo.

So.. you MUST talk to Guest Services.

Even then the answer may be no.. but it will ALWAYS be no with the front line reps who answer the phones after the booking has closed.

Make sense?

Thanks for the advice, I will try it and let you know if I was successful. Linda

Warning: It may take a couple of tries before they talk to Guest Services. Be firm but polite.

Good luck!

Just for some reassurance, the noise level at the AKL during the construction is at a minimum, and it's only during the daytime hours. I have spoken with several different people who have recently returned (while the construction was going on) and they advised that they barely heard anything at all (and they were worried and initially wanted to change resorts because of this.) They ended up quite happy that they stayed there.
So don't panic and expect the worst if you do end up at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Canadian Guy is correct though, if the discounted offer you are trying to book is no longer offered (the booking window has expired) the usual response from a CRO agent will be that nothing is available (most of the time they cannot pull up availability with that promo--some can, but most cannot) and asking to have guest services search availability is a good way to go in that situation.

Excellent point Sue Ellen and that's awesome news to hear. So much of what constitutes acceptable noise levels is highly subjective. Some people are more bothered by certain types of noises and so on.

It's just human nature I guess.

"What might be right you.. may not be right for some.. " - Diff'rent Strokes
