Do you guys think it would be innovative for disney to offer some type of exclusive member functions during slow times of the season to boost attendence and revenue at the parks....ideas would be.

1) DVC day at epcot, where they would have behind the scenes tours, and maybe receptions in some of the restaurants follwed by a special place set aside for dvc members to view illuminations.

2) DVC day at magic kingdom, MGM, and animal kingdom. All of which would have the same things as stated above.

you could do all of these consecutively in the same week therefore it could be DVC week at disney....I think this may bring alot of extra people in to the parks....they could also do other things as well at different times of the year....just a thought

While this may be a good idea in theory, I don't think we'll ever see it happen.

First off, the DVC resorts are usually pretty full. If they were to do something like this, it would have to be during a slow time. Even then, the number of rooms available at the DVC resorts is finite...so it would have to be a booking situation kind of like they did for the S.S. Member Cruise: first come-first served.

Secondly, since we have already purchased our points with DVC, they know that we're coming back, and probably don't need to offer any inducements like this. Same with discounted park hoppers, etc.

Don't get me wrong -- I'd love to see it happen, but I just don't think it will. Not for a long LONG time, at least.

I would love to see something like this happen, and would be willing to pay for it. I don't think it is impossible for something like this to happen, but it won't be free.

PS: gmboy95, I was at The Poly watching the Patriots/Rams Superbowl. YEAH PATS!!!
PPS: We should have known, but we missed Brady in the MGM parade. :(

For several years they had a weekly function for members at OKW. It was a type of carnaval but I forget what it was called. I was sad to see it go and saw it as the beginning of a very slow decline in DVC. While I love DVC and still find it has a good value, this still marks the beginning of the end for me of DVC truly caring for the individual member. Fortunately, the expanded options in DVC have easily offset the attitude change.
