OK, with the FL resident discount... would it be possible to book as follows?

2 adts, 2 children (friends, each bringing a 6 yo) one is a FL resident, one is not. So room can be booked with the discount currently offered for May.

One day park passes and Disney Dining, for all 4.

Then, both seperately book 4 days park passes on line... non FL resident at the regular ticket price, and the FL resident under the Wild promotion currently offered....

Would that be OK? Is it breaking rules?

Just trying for some last minute magic!!!

well your post is confusing to me but this is how i would do it if i'm reading it right:

yes you can book the fl pass discount room because one in the room is eligible for that discount you just have to book the room in her name.

I believe if you have a season pass you don't have to buy a one day ticket to get the dining hum but then again i don't know if you can get a discount on the room and add dining... have to ask someone else about that.

Now if you do have to buy those one day tickets you can just take them up to the ticket window or the hotel desk and pay to upgrade them to what ever ticket you need and then you just pay the difference between the one day (or is it two required now) and what you need.

Your post is a little hard to follow-

It looks like you live in Mexico, so if only the child is a Florida resident, you can't book a FL resident room. The same thing with the Florida resident passes, an adult with Florida ID is required.

As long as one is a resident yes you can get a room, they must be there for check-in.
That one day pass may be a problem, it's ok for your child, but the one day ticket for the adult non resident I believe would be a problem because they check all the adults ID when giving out passes.
I believe when I lived there and booked a resident dis. room they checked my husbands ID as well as mine. Not sure they do that all the time. It was a couple of years ago.

If you are booking a room with a Florida resident discount then it's not necessary to also purchase park passes. There is either a package with ddp that DOES require a minimum ticket purchase OR the discounted room only ressie- there is no Florida resident package. I would just book the room with that discount as long the resident is an adult, and then get the tickets separately. You are entitled to share the room with that discount, so no problems there and each of you can get whatever tickets are the best value- your friend with her discount and you and your 6 year old another way.

I know it is confusing, welcome to my world! I am a US citizen, living abroad, but maintain a FL residence. My son is a dual citizen, holding both passports. Trying to get the best rate, and include a friend and her daughter who are foreigners.

And, at the end of the day, with the airfare so high, it looks as if we will have to wait to Sept. (we booked a BB)

I always have a trip on the books, and to me Sept. just feels soooo faaaar aaawaaay...

Trying to force a square peg into a round hole rarely works!

Just thought if I could tweak it, and get the price down (vs. our BB) that I could justify a trip......

Oh well, end of summer it is!

Thanks again!

I'm glad it will work out for September and hopefully the summer will fly by. Is your friend coming with you then? If so, two 6 year olds sharing WDW together would be so much fun and you'd have some adult conversation too!

bolding is mine...
part time FL residents are allowed to purchase FL resident passes and since it is illegal to have a driver's license for more than one state and you are supposed to have it for the state that you reside in the most, they allow other forms of documentation to be used as proof of residency for proof of part time residency for the purchase of park passes. Now I don't know if the same documentation can be used for booking hotel rooms...but it is allowed for the purchase of FL resident park passes. So Florida ID is not 'required'. :goodvibes

I have a valid US FL driver´s license that I have used many times over the years, I guess my question is that if we were to book with the FL discount on the room, that I am entitled to, and they would be by extension. And my son and I got the FL resident discount tix, could she then just buy her par tix for her and her daughter who are not residents?

A lot of times Disney requires all in the room to do the same thing, wasnt sure if they would let us split it up like that.....

I think you misread what I said-I did not say "Government Issued Florida ID". Chesire has a whole sticky on what CAN be used for "id" purposes for buying tickets.

And for what is worth anytime I have booked a Florida Rate room, when I check in-they ask for my Florida ID (which in my case is a DL). Just the same as when we go to use our Florida resident passes the first time-I have been ask for my ID.

Looks like the OP found a solution that works for her

She can buy her own tix as they aren't required or even offered for the room-only Florida resident discount. So you are good to go!

So, yes you may reserve the Fl. room rate for 4. You must be there for check in.

Then you can get your Fl. Res. tix and they can get there reg. tickets. It's no problem at all.

Sorry, but the way your post was worded I think others reading it who might have a similar situation would interpret Florida ID as Florida Driver's License even though you didn't specifically state it that way. I think it was fairly ambiguous that's why I chose to clarify with my post. Sorry if you felt offended by my post but I just wanted others to understand that they didn't need to present a FL driver's license. :goodvibes

Sorry, you had a hard time understanding.

I didn't have a hard time understanding... I still stand by the fact that you're wording was very ambiguous... :goodvibes

If that makes you happy. You can stand by whatever you want. You can also continue to try and make something out of nothing-

Have a Disney day........

To anyone else who may not understand that in order to take advantage of certain discounts (where you may need to show proof that you qualify for the discount) as I stated earlier Cheshire has a great sticky on what is considered acceptable ID or proof.
