Well, I got dissed pretty thoroughly in another thread for not liking Lilo & Stitch, so we're going to give it another try tonight (I haven't watched it all the way through). It's been several years.

I also rented Treasure Planet and Atlantis, as we've never seen them. I figured it was something to watch in the last couple of weeks before we go.

I'm still wavering over whether to take them to see Bolt or not.

I (47 years old) enjoyed Treasure Planet and Atlantis more than my kids/grandkids did. None of us have any interest in seeing Bolt.

The Bolt characters are at DHS. DD & DS insisted on seeing them even without seeing the movie (no movie theater where we live). I had to ask another person in line what they were named...besides Bolt, of course.

i personally like lilo and stitch...but if you dont like it thats up to you..dont know why you would get flamed for your opinion...

personally I dont care for atlantis!!! LOL

FWIW, All of us (DD3, DS6, DH and I) loved Bolt. But we also love Lilo and Stitch. DS6 loves Treasure Planet and Atlantis, DD3 didn't like either.

No one in our family liked Bolt, but DD9 has always loved Stitch! We didn't see Treasure Planet or Atlantis - maybe I'll have to rent those.

DD (3 years old on Valentines Day) absolutely loved Bolt, infact it's her birthday party theme. My husband and I also found it to be a really cute and entertaining movie. She's just recently become very fond of Stitch too. I would recommend giving Bolt a chance.

Ok, one down....

We watched Atlantis tonight. I didn't think it was much of a child's movie at all. It was.....ok. Meredith (7) was bored at times, but she watched most of it. Caroline seemed to enjoy it (10 years).

I thought it unpleasantly violent and thought that the animation just wasn't up to Disney standards. The story was pretty thin.

Ah well. We'll see how they go from here.

We just found another Stitch movie. Leroy and Stitch. My niece loves Stitch. There are quite a few Stitch movies.

I love Treasure Planet, but really did not like Atlantis. I agree with your review of it. The animation was simply terrible compared to most of the other films. The only positive thought I have regarding that movie is that Disney did their usually excellent job of casting appropriate vocal talents.

My DH & I have never seen Lilo & Stitch. We've seen pieces of the cartoons & don't really care for it.

We love Bolt! My parents, DH, myself, & DD8 all thought it was great.

The movie that I just can't get into is Wall-E. I promised myself that I'd give it at least 10 min. I watched the clock the entire time. I'll have to try it again someday.

I didn't like Lilo and Stitch, either, so don't feel alone. I liked Atlantis, but not it's definitely not a Disney classic.

I love Lilo and Stich but I have a thing for Hawaii so if it were in a different setting, who knows. I didn't like Atlantis. I haven't seen Treasure Planet.

I loved Lilo and Stitch, DH likes it, DS3 likes it okay but not his fave. My fave line was "This is my family. It is small, and broken, but still good". I still tear up.

Certainly everyone has different tastes, though, and, you shouldn't be dissed for not liking something...is liking/disliking a movie even something one can consciously control?

I like Lilo and Stitch because we have two ferrets and Stitch is very ferret-like to me.

Storybookmum,
I can't wait to hear how you like or don't like Lilo & Stitch. I had a bad impression of it due to the TV show, and was told on another thread that the movie is different -- much better.
So I'm going to give it a chance! I stopped by the library to check it out yesterday, but alas! I had forgotten we had out Frosty the Snowman, so I was at my video limit and had to leave it there.
I've promised myself to check out Lilo & Stitch next week!

Oh I love Lilo & Stitch, the part about the small broken family always makes me teary too. Maybe because my family is small and broken. :)

I like Atlantis too but it is a bit older, my DD9 is OK with it, DD12 loves it right now.

None of us really liked Treasure Planet all that much, just was not a good Disney movie.

And we love Wall*E, it's soooooooo cute!

The kids ended up watching it by themselves, so I still haven't seen it, lol. They liked it quite a bit. I don't know if I'll get there.
