to the parks. What types of things do you put into your bag to take to the parks. I know sunscreen, dd asthma med and Epipen, money and park tickets, batteries, but what else am I missing. Backpack or over the sholder bag. I used a backpack in March 2005, and it was always too heavy. What are your opionions.

What about a Bagallini ? I usally carry a miniature backpack by JanSport that I LOVE but this year I am going to try a Bagallini.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Vera Bradley mini backpacks-very lightweight and just big enough to fit everything I need :thumbsup2

This is a difficult thing to find. The perfect bag that will hold everything you will need. You'll want something that is waterproof for the water rides and maybe the rain. And something that isn't too heavy.

Last time we went (summer '05), we used a hiking bag. They are usually sold in outdoor enthusiast stores like EMS. They are high quality, lightweight, water resistant, and ergonomically designed to keep the weight across your shoulders, rather than on your back. I thought it would be like any other high-schooler's backpack, but it was worlds away in comfort.

And don't forget to take some water in with you--unless you don't mind paying $5 for Aquafina :crazy2:.

I use a bag that I actually bought in WDW. It's a backpack that you sling diagonally across your body. It's khaki and has the MMC logo on it. It's small for a backpack but holds a lot.

Over the last couple of years, backpacks have made huge advances. I had been using the same Jansport backpack for the last 15 years until recently this week I purchased a bag by "Ogio" you can see the specific bag here:

I didn't get it in that color though. I couldn't believe the difference it made, when I wear it with the sternum strap connected, I feel like I'm not "CARRYING" a bag, I feel like there's no stress or pressure from the bag itself. As you can see in the picture, there's a kind of built in harness that lets the straps rest comfortably around your arms as opposed to across you coming from a central point on the backpack.

Regardless of what you decide, ebags.com is a great website and there's a discount for mousesavers.com folks. To get the discount you just have to go to

Me, too!!!! This is one of the bonuses of having a stroller, I must admit! The ability to use the undercarriage and to sling the diaper bag ofer the handles makes carrying things a breeze!

One suggestion, though... If you're carrying water, sunscreen, etc.... anything that could potentially leak or that you want ot stay cool.. I would suggest looking into some of the many DIAPER BAG backapcks they have out now! I swear, no one would ever know it's intended purpose... (I'm assuming you're an adult traveling without very small children. :)

I use the bag you'll see if you follow this link. It has multiple pockets AND the insulated seperate compartment works VERY nicely for keeping drinks cool and protecting the rest of my stuff from things that could potentially leak and make a mess!

When I joined DVC I rec'd a cool 'backpack' that is just material with some strings on it to close and over the shoulder. Nike makes one. I used it last trip when we thought it was going to rain and it was great, not heavy at all, but then I normally go to the parks with the bare minimum-room whatever fits in my pocket.

I like 'sling' back packs. They are easier to get on and off and you can rotate them around your body while standing in line. A normal back pack (2 shoulder straps) forces you to take it completely off if you need to put something in or take something out.

For the past 2 years I used a 'sling' pack I bought at Gap but it was pretty simple and only a few pockets. It held my digicam, camcorder, towel, sunscreen, accessories, etc...

This year I bought a High Sierra Crush sling pack from www.ebags.com.

I've already tested it and it's more comfortable then my 'simple' sling. I like the padding and ventilated material they use for the back of the pack (part that touches your back) and the sling. Plus it has a lot of small pockets where you can stash things like your tickets.

And I always bring different sizes of plastic zip lock bags. This way I can make sure things stay dry even if the bag gets wet.

I like a backpack and it is always filled with water and cameras. I keep money on me.

Take a stroller with a smaller cooler disguised as a diaper bag as well as other items in a bag. You can follow someone in who is carrying a toddler and act like it is yours; or, wave at someone carrying a toddler going through a different turnstile like he/she is your spouse. ;)

We're used to the cool off-season but now we are going in the crowds and heat of June for the first time since I was the kid. I've decided, therefore, that the perfect bag for us is the hydration pack. I'll be partially freezing the (bottled) water in the bladder so I have cool non-chlorinated water all day that's easy and comfortable to carry. We'll each have our own pack that holds a water bladder, other snacks, camera etc. We won't need extra sunscreen because we'll have on SPF clothing and huge SPF hats. We look like some tacky outback tourist spoof, but are comfortable.
