Trying again. How to get from MK after Wishes

I tried this earlier but forgot to subscribe and now can't find my post. DS16 and I are going in March. I want to see Wishes at least twice. He doesn't really because the crowds are so bad after. We are staying at POFQ. Instead of waiting for a bus, would it be any faster to take the monorail somewhere, TTC or a resort, and then get a bus somewhere else? Say, DTD and then to POFQ?

Do not try to connnect to your resort from DTD! It can be a very long wait! I made that mistake once, please learn from me!

Theatrics aside, if you see Wishes from the very front of MK you can get to your bus rather quickly. I did this with my dear nephew. We watched from the area by the American Flag, and then ran like h*#l to our bus. There are usually busses waiting at close, so you should not have a problem making it back to your resort.

We've stayed at POR many times so I know your pain about waiting for the bus at the end of an evening. I honestly don't think going the round about way will be any faster than just waiting for the bus. If you can't make it out with the first group after the fireworks, how about getting out with the last group. This is the route we have been going and it is working well for us. We take our time leaving the park, using this time to check out all of the shops as we are leaving. It's also a great time to sit down and have a late night snack.

There are no busses from the TTC to resorts (except maybe Wilderness Lodge & Ft Wilderness). The best bet is to wait for the direct bus. They run pretty often after park closing.

In MARCH, Wishes will likely be shown at 7:00 or 7:30pm.

Sit and wait for 30 minutes after Wishes.
Exit.
If buses are still busy...
Take the monorail to TTC.
Transfer to monorail to Epcot.
Walk to your PO bus stop at Epcot.
Ride home.

I told him about this and we may just do that. What snack places are usually open? Is the place that has funnel cakes open after Wishes?
