Truth telling time. Can we really complain?

I found out when I unknowingly bought a censored version of an album from Walmart. There was no label on the CD itself & no signage in the store saying that they sell only edited versions. Maybe Walmart regulars just "know" these types of things, but I rarely shopped there & had no idea. I only realized it when I saw the same CD at another store & there were two versions - one with a "Parental Advisory" sticker on it and one labeled "Clean Version." So, at least at my local Walmart, it was a "secret" in that there was no labeling or signage to inform customers that they were buying an edited product.

ETA: IIRC, this was in the early 2000s.
see...I always LOOKED for the Parental Advisory sticker...cause I wanted to make sure I had the 'real' versions.:rolleyes1 I guess that's how I knew :rotfl:

Me too. I can't even remember what CD/artist it was, but I guess I didn't realize there would be a Parental Advisory sticker on the "real" one!

It's really about perceived value. Some may feel the most value is gotten with the cheapest price. Others may find quality, longevity, ease of use, etc as a value with a higher price. For most people value is perceived differently for differnt products and services.

I totally agree with this statement :thumbsup2

As for the airline seats. I agree with the majority of the posters. If it is a short flight I don't see a problem with them. But, no way for a flight from Portland Oregon to Orlando.

Here is a site (peapod) that lists Tide UPCs...

Good call, pandaroo!

As for this mini-debate concerning music, it is a widely-known (and well-publicized) fact that Walmart sells "sanitized" versions of certain music releases. These versions are not manfuctured by WM, but provided by the major music labels as a means to satisfy WM's request to make all their music offerings more family-friendly.

It's not like you can't buy the thing, elsewhere...

A lot of this has to do with WM's roots, which are deep in the "bible belt" of America, which holds some of their biggest long-time customers.

For any of you going to Walmart expecting to purchase CDs with "Parental Advisory" labels and curse words, just forget it and try elsewhere...
