Trunk or Treat

We have "Trunk or Treat" tonight at our kids school. Does anyone else do this? We have a blast! Here's how ours goes: We tailgate in the school's parking lot at 5:30, we all bring food, tables, decorations, some people actually bring grills, etc. The kids go around from car to car at 6:30 dressed in their costumes and "Trunk or Treat". Then about 7:30 we have a D.J. come for the kids. They have an absolute blast! Well, we adults do too! Anyone else do anything like this?

Yep, we do trunk-or-treat too. The schools do it, and our church does it. Our school one is fun because they do an outdoor movie. Everyone brings their own blanket or lawn chairs and you can buy food there or bring your own. But the Trunk-or-treating isn't that great. The lines of kids are so huge that people are afraid of running out of candy, so they give out one candy per car. Not much loot after that big long line. But the church one is great; the kids really score. And it's nice that you don't have to worry about all the safety issues that you do when you trick-or-treat. We still trick-or-treat too, though!

Yes, our church is doing it tomorrow night. We should have over 500-700 kids this year!!!
We did it last year and loved it...so my dh, dd, and I are doing it again this year. We decorate our car and give out small toys and candy....

Yup! Our Church does this as well every year. However, this year we're also selling hot dogs and drinks for $2.00. All proceeds will be donated to the recent hurricane victims.

That's a wonderful idea! I wish I would have thought of this, I would have suggested it for our school.

Our schools have had them since way back when my kids were in school.

Yep our church does it every year and it has become a HUGE deal. We are expecting over 3000 ( yes THOUSAND) kids this year!

We have a huge church so it works out well. They trunk or treat is outside and then have food and jumping castle in the gym. they have a blast! They get a TON of candy though.
