I'm hoping someone can supply information on the size of the trundle and bunk beds (and even the day beds) at the WDW resorts. I have DS (14) who is 6'3" and growing and DD (11) who is currently pushing a mere 4'10-1/2".

We're booked at PO-R, with a trundle bed, which I'm hoping will work for DD. But at our most recent family trip to BWI, the day bed was small even for her. On a prior trip to YC, the daybed seemed much bigger. And through it all, the kids REALLY want to stay at AKL, and if we get lucky with a code, we might go for it. But only if the bunk beds work--nothing worse than sleep-deprived teens!

Thanks for your input.

The trundle bed at POR will be slightly smaller than the Daybed at BWI, it's really built for a small child. The daybeds at BWI are the smallest ones at the deluxe resorts. The YC have full size twins as their daybeds as does the AKL. Just a note about getting bunk beds at AKL. They are regular twin beds like you'd find at home, but if you are a family of 4, they cannot be guaranteed. They will be provided on an "as available" basis like any requests made. If you book a deluxe room, those rooms that have bunk beds are usually reserved for families with 5 members and can only be given to families of 4 if there are no families of 5 requiring them.

It was fine for our tiny 8 year old grandson last year (in pic in my sig) and my tiniest-in-her class 10 year old granddaughter, but next time we go, the 10 year old will prob be too big. If you request a trundle, you'll be charged $15..why not see if you can get a rollaway instead for I believe, the same amount, and prob more comfotable than a thin mattess on the floor (that's what the trundle is). Room will be crowded, but it is if you leave the trundle bed out anyway..it's right next to the door when out.

My 6' DS has slept on the bunk beds at AKL, and daybed at GF, CR, Poly, BC, & YC. He said they were all fine. The bunk beds are the biggest, though.

Glad you asked that question. We just got back from the Poly in aug and I made sure I really watched our one ds 15 and 5 foot11 in day bed. I said tell me how comfortobale you are in there in case any one asks us. Well he barely fits , he can fit sideways with his knees slightly bent., but a full stretch is just about pushing it. Looks like we will put 13 yo ds in there next time and let the big guy sleep in the queen with the 11 yo ds. I am also wondering when my growing guys will also max out the day bed. What can I say, their dad is 6'3 so its only a matter of time. But nothing is more worse than having a bad nights sleep (uncomfortable) after spending a long , hot day in the parks.

Keep in mind that not all rooms at the YC or the AKL have a daybed. Some have a comfy chair instead.

Regretfully they aren't obligated to give you a room with a daybed unless you have five in your party, and as others have mentioned, bunkbeds aren't guaranteed.

Have you thought about two connecting rooms at a moid or value? Generally that will be less than a deluxe and offer two bathrooms.
