Just an observation. My DH, 10, had a lot of trouble with her finger scans coming into the parks. Yes, we did buy her the adult ticket, since she turned 10 in January, but those machines could not read her little fingers!!! (She is also a tall 10-year-old). At MGM I think it never did read it and the lady just let her in I think because when we tried to get a fast pass later it said her ticket was not valid. The CM actually told me "next time just buy her a child's ticket"
Anyway... did not like those scanners, even though I know why they have them. We bought the no-expiry passes, so have four days left, but probably won't go back until Feb 07, so we will see if the scanner works better then.
At Universal the adults would just sign. Liked that better.

My observation about the finger scanners is that if you do not do it right the first time, then it never recognises it again. I have never had a problem with the scanners, but I make sure I do the same thing with my fingers every time.

DH on the other had ALWAYS has problems with his.. because he doesnt hold his fingers tight enough to the scanner..

just my thoughts!!!!

Don't keep wiggling your fingers. You need to hold still for a few seconds for the system to work.

Also if you keep having trouble, see if Guest Relations can "reset" the finger scan so the next time you go through the turnstile, it takes a new scan.

It could be that she didn't hold her fingers still enough. My DS 10 also has very small hands and he never had any trouble with the scanner reading his hand when he put it in. I really thought the scanner would be a pain with the boys having to do it but it really was no trouble for us. The only problem we had was once or twice the kids put more than two fingers in and had to start over. I even did that once. Maybe they can reset it like someone suggested.

My tall 11 y/o dd had a lot less trouble with her finger scan than her father!!! She learned to keep those fingers still in there. Still don't know what dh's fingers were doing.
