Trouble with PayPal... again!

I've been trying to access my PayPal account all day without success. Anybody else having the same trouble?

We can't either, in fact we can't even reach the paypal site. DW has a payment to make to someone on ebay - she'll just have to wait till it comes back up. If the bank I work for was run the way PayPal is run, the government would shut us down.

I'm just glad to know that the problem isn't on my end. I was out of town overnight and needed to pay for an ebay win and when I couldn't I became a little concerned. Thanks for the heads up.

I just waded through the eBay "Answer Center" maze and found out that PayPal has been down all day due to a "glitch" in the system. They offer NO time frame as to when the problem will be corrected.

If you use an eBay/PayPal credit Card, your charges will be declined. That's causing some real problems too.

I just wanted to check my balance, but now I think I'll clean out the account when I can access my money.

If you want an experience, read the ebay discussion boards. The ebay regulars are VERY upset - and you can't blame them. Another day or two and ebay may end up being a good short sell.

They were having problems over the weekend. I went to an ATM to withdrawl some money out of my Paypal acct. w/ my Paypal card and couldn't. I called several times (took 45mins to get someone) and was told they were updating their systems and things weren't working. They were trying to get it fixed as soon as possible. Looks like they haven't yet.
I do know that if you have the Paypal card, they can reset it for you and you should be able to use it to take half of the daily limit out from an ATM.

I have also been trying to pay for an item using PayPal.
Its so frustrating. I want to pay so my item can be shipped ASAP. I am leaving for WDW soon and want to bring it with me!

Rumor has it, paypal was hacked into and some accounts compromised. Just rumor, nothing confirmed.

and all I get when trying to access paypal is "We can't find "paypal.com"?....for a site that so many people use to be down for such a long time is not a good sign..ebay announcement boards tell you that some people may have a 'low encryption' problem signing in..and tell you how to update that..but they don't tell you how to even find the site anymore...a lot of sellers are angry..they are losing sales as buyers can't get on to pay...buyers are angry that they can't pay...users of paypal credit cards are angry tha their cards are being rejected..somehow that doesn't just sound like the result of a site that is 'just having problems'..why would the site being down result in paypal credit/debit cards being denied?..makes no sense to me..just glad that the only auction I won this weekend refused to take paypal and I had to send off a check!

Just out of curiousity I tried to log onto my paypal account. I got a big bright message saying that my account has been permanately locked w/ a balance of 0.00. Permanately??? Sheesh good thing I did not have any money in there. Anyone else get this message?

A technical problem with the PayPal platform has caused intermittent errors and availability for members attempting to use the PayPal site since Friday 10/8. Activities such as paying for ended eBay listings, using the Immediate Payment feature, using PayPal shipping functionality, and accessing account information have been intermittently available. Offline use of PayPal debit cards has also been impacted intermittently, and some members have been unable to use them.
eBay and PayPal are continuing to work to resolve these issues, and we will continue to update you. We understand the inconvenience this issue has caused for some members, and we appreciate your patience.
