trouble swapping FP on website

wife made FP for all 5 of us for ToT. I swapped hers and two kids for Star Tours. Then decided to let her go ToT with one child and I would go ST with other two. couldn't find way to swap our names. then cancel mine & childs for ToT to start over. wife go mine with other two for ST but still cant get her and child for ToT. now every time I try it wants to cancel all our FP for whole day. Have TSM now but no other slots left so cant even cancel everything and start over.,
any ideas on how to fix this. all I need is to select wife and child and find a time for ToT. just cant do just them without cancelling whole day.

I think once you cancel any of them you pretty much have to cancel them all and start over. From what I've read...in most cases, never cancel, always modify. I've read cases where calling Disney IT did help, though.

If everyone still has their 3 FPs, you have to move ride times around. The system won't show you rides available in the same time period as what you have secured.

Use the app. Modify > Change the FP that you want to sub out to a completely different time. Then, go back in to Modify > Change and look for the new ride (ToT) in the time period you need.

You have to "tell" the system that the time period is open and available for booking even if it's only to Modify.
