Trouble getting the excursion you want?

I've never had to pre-book an excursion, so I wonder...is there a RUSH on them when the bookings open? Is it like obtaining seating for Cinderella's Royal Table or something....or has everyone's experience been that they've pretty much got the excursion they wanted. Do tell. I'll be on the Eastern 14-day next year and I'm just wondering how it'll all work.

Thanx

I have only had one experience of not being able to book an excursion I wanted. It was on a Western and I wanted to do a snorkeling excursion but I didn't pre-book. I tried to get a spot the morning we docked in Cozumel but it was all sold out.

Since then I've pre-booked my excursions. :)

We tried booking the Key West Glass Boat Excursion about 40 days out and it was booked. I'm excited to be going no matter what I get to do, but I'd say if you have heart set on doing something book as soon as possible.

Definately book at 60 days if doing DCL excursion, i booked fishing at cc my friend tried to get it a day later and sold out ! don't forget you can always cancel if your plans change.

I called on the first day at 8:30 am. Time I want to do the 4x4 Trek in Antigua was already booked. I did get the later time however. I wouldn't wait if you have your heart set on something!

On our cruise last July, the parasailing excursions on Castaway Cay sold out within hours of the excursions being opened up.

I also agree to prebook if you've got your heart set on something. We called about 2 weeks before our cruise for the Catamaran Racing in Key West and the Bottom Fishing in Castaway Cay, and both were booked already.

We ended up making our own arrangement for a fishing trip and did it in Key West--it worked out great, thankfully, and the company was very reputable. Everyone had a great time.

I didn't know that there were any 14 day Eastern cruises:jester: I assume that you are on one of the repo cruises (going west in May or going East in August).

I'm on the Bringing the Magic Home:( (ok I'm only sad that it's returning to the east coast) cruise in August.:bounce: It will be interesting to see what excursions DCL comes up with for the repo cruises. I'm waiting to hear from the May cruisers to see what they liked doing in the new ports!

I WOULD DEFINATELY PRE-BOOK THE EXCURSIONS YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM UNTIL YOU GET ON BOARD SHIP AND SOMETIMES WHEN YOU PRE BOOK THEM SO MANY PEOPLE WANT THE SAME ONES YOU STILL DONT GET THE ONES YOU WANT , YOU WOULD THINK DISNEY WOULD REALIZE THIS AND GET MORE EXCURSIONS GOING, O WELL JUST A HAPPY THOUGHT!

We pre-booked our excursions 60 days in advance. Atlantis submarine in St. Thomas was already sold out. And that was the first day you could book!!
