Thinking of buying at SSR... but will want to stay at other properties too. How easy/hard has it been for you to reserve a 1-bedroom during NON-Peak times at BCV, BWV or VWL... if you were booking 5-7 months in advance?

Haven't tried to get into BWV or BCV, but VWL has been easy for us. Then again, we usually go for a 2BR as we like the extra space even though there are only three of us. 1BRs take fewer points, so do often go more quickly than 2BRs.

From reading past posts on this subject, I would expect that you would not have a hard time with off peak times..especially since you are looking at a 1 bedroom.
The rooms are generally booked up in this order; studios, 2 b-room, 1 b-room. Studios because of the low points, 2 bedrooms because of those people who need to sleep 8 people and then 1 bedrooms are the last to book because it has the same capacity as a studio but for more points.

It also depends upon how you define "off season." Early December is technically "off season" but this is a very popular time for DVC members to "go home." If instead you are talking about late January or Sept, then yes, that is "off season."

That said, I would not wait too long after the 7 month window to book a ressie at any of the DVC resorts.

The thing to keep in mind is that off peak for DVC is not necessarily off peak for WDW.

For the Epcot area resorts, busy is October through Christmas, due to Food and Wine and the holidays. But the only not busy months are January, May and September (as I recall)

VWL can also be very busy in the Fall and Winter months, as its theming particularly appeals to people at that time of year.

Remember than BCV and VWL are both under 200 rooms (as I recall, BCV might be bigger but not by much). While BWV is a bigger resort, there are fewer standard view and boardwalk view rooms. And there are 100,000 DVC members now.

The closer you get to your trip, the less rooms will be available. So at seven months you'll have fewer problems than at five months. But I wouldn't expect problem free even at seven months.

We booked BCV for our August trip in mid-February. This was a one bedroom. Hope this hleps.

The rule of thumb is "Buy where you plan to stay." It's good advice, since your chances of being disappointed down the line with your purchase is much less.

yesterday I booked a 1 bedroom at VWL for 11/18-22, today I changed it to a 2 bedroom and I really was shocked that it was there. The 2 bedroom is a lock-off which is really better.
