Has anyone ever stayed at the Tropicana Inn? Just booked a few nights there over Aug 9-11 and was wondering if anyone had stayed there and what they thought of it

My family and I stayed there on our October trip this past year. The rooms were pretty good. It's the third closest hotel to the parks (behind the Grand Californian and Best Western Park Place Inn), so that's a big plus! A lot of times people complain about the breakfast and how limited it is. Well...yeah, but it worked for our family. They give you a couple pastries, but you have to pay for the bagels and cereal. It tied us over until we got an early lunch. We are the type to go to the parks from "8 til late" so we didn't necessarily spend that much time in our room. I think we took one afternoon break, and the room was fine, especially because it was so close. Yes, I'd recommend it, if you can handle the lack of special features and can be happy about the very short walking distance. :goodvibes

I stayed there once...it's a nice property and the rooms are clean,,,i just thought there was too much furniture in the room which took up alot of space...in our room we had the queen beds two side tables, another table with two chairs , the armoire with the tv in it and another desk for writing or putting your laptop on...there was hardly enough space to walk around,,,,i didn't try the breakfast, we never try those anywhere we stay so i can't comment on that,,,,overall for the price we paid we would stay there again,,just not our first or second or third choice...have fun

We had a pretty bad stay there a couple of years ago. The room wasn't clean (underwear under the bed, make up under the chair, hat on the windowsill) and when we complained they said it was ours!:scared1: The attitude was really negative from the management, and there was a LOUD crew in the pool very late. We wouldn't go back, but it sure was cheap.

YIKES!!!! We are there too from Aug 8-10. We're going to make the best of it, though. We are really looking forward to the short walk from the parks:cool1:

We have stayed there twice. I like it. The room is just an average room, nothing special. For our family is was perfect, all we do in the room is sleep anyways because we spend from morning until night in the parks. If you are looking for a place close by you can't beat this location.
Both times we went our rooms were clean and the staff was great. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

It's our favorite off site place to stay. We've always had clean rooms, comfortable and quiet. We love the big pool, and big hot tub. The location is really wonderful, taking just a minute or two and your in DL. The breakfast isn't huge or anything, but that's what you get for free! LOL It's good enough for a quick pick me up to get you going in the morning. We plan on staying again! :)

For the most part that is where we always stay, and have been staying there for a few years now. They did have a re model a few years back... as for the one person who had a bad appearance I am not sure how it happened, the pool times are very strict and its also in the middle of the parking lot not near any of the rooms, also all the beds are closed in on the bottom so its imposable to leave stuff under them:confused3... oh well I am sure you will be fine. As for breakfast there is no limit to how many Danishes you can have there is also fruit, muffins coffee hot coco and juice at no charge... for the price and how close it is to the park you cant go wrong.

Yay!! :yay: Thanks for posting some positive reviews! I'm very excited to be so close to the park!!

We've stayed there a few times, it was just fine. Room was clean, staff was nice, walk is great to and from the parks. Rates were not too great but usually consistent, we paid $130 a night or somewhere around there.

We stayed in March & had a very comfortable stay. I'd suggest bringing your own pillows if you can. The rooms are standard, not a lot of "running" around room but came with 2 queen beds, table with 2 chairs, fridge/micro, etc. They have double curtains so the room gets quite dark....which was great since we had a blinky light right outside our room. We never saw it. The parking lot was always noisy but we NEVER heard them in our room. As for the staff, we found them very helpful & courteous. We had an issue with our bathroom & they had someone come right up! We would stay there again. We never did the breakfast but did find the gift shops & coffee shop convenient.
