So the AP rate for Jan is not out yet and in the event it does not come out to the under $100.00 per night we might need to stay off site.

After looking at all the hotels on the strip I found the Tropicana to have a 2 room kitchen suite for about $300.00 per night pluss taxes blah blah blah.

So my question is has anyone ever stayed in the suites and what did you think?

So I didn't get much info from you all the way I asked the first time, so lets try this again.

Who would you or have you used with a two room suite for 2 families of four (kids are all under five)

that price seems steep....is it from their web site? They have a great location.

It's further down the street, not walking distance, but the Comfort Inn Maingate had great kids suites that we have used a couple of times and loved. Decent but basic continental breakfast and the ART is handy.

I have not stayed in the suites at Tropicana, but have stayed in the regular rooms a few times. This hotel is on my short list of hotels I consider when planning a trip, although it's not at the top of my list.

I have stayed in the suites at the Carousel (next door to the Tropicana), which is my favorite off site hotel. We had a 2 room 2 bath suite which consisted of a basic hotel room with 2 queen beds and a bath, but then a door in the back of the room led to another bedroom with a queen bed and full bathroom. The 2 baths were great, but the suite overall did not have a lot of space. There was only a small table with 2 chairs so not really any sitting room.

Another suite I've stayed in is the Camelot, 2 doors down from the Tropicana. Here is the link to my review with pictures. This suite gave us a lot more room to move around, but we only had 1 bathroom.

Another option is the Desert Inn and Suites, about 3 doors down from Tropicana. I've only stayed in the Jr Parlor suite so I can't comment on a bigger one. But what we had was a small sitting room with a sofa bed and chair, coffee table, entertainment center with TV, microwave and fridge. Through a closed door you have your basic hotel room with 2 queen beds and a bathroom.

Have stayed at the Tropicana, not in the suite though! Check their main website, I have usually seen that same suite for $200 per night on there many times during the year! Good luck, we like the Desert Inn and Suites. Same distance from the crosswalk just in the opposite direction. I have never paid over $189 a night for 4 queen beds and 2 baths there.

We've stayed at the Residence Inn Garden Grove 3 times. In Feb (with my folks) we had a 2 BR suite. 1K in one BR, 2Q in the other and a double sofa bed in the kitchen/living area, plus 2 bathrooms. Over Veteran's Day weekend (this time with DW's mother) we had a kids' suite, which had bunk beds instead of the king. It was slightly smaller than suite we stayed in February. (DW and I have also stayed in a 1BR suite) Since we've stayed here our last 3 Disney trips, you know our family loves staying here. There's a cluster of nice hotels at this intersection (Harbor and Chapman) along with several nice restuarants, as well as Target and Starbucks. Excellent complimentary breakfast with several hot dishes everyday.
The main disadvantage is that it's way too far to walk.

There is another RI closer to DLR, I think it's on Clementine. Since we have never had a bad stay at any RI, I would guess this would be a nice option also. We've never stayed there because we've always gotten a better deal at the Garden Grove RI.

Another vote for Camelot.(I sound like a broken record). It's true, BIG rooms, only one bathroom though. :sad2:
