Was thinking of either the Fairfield or the Tropicana Inn. Any recommendations or preferences?

I have stayed at both. Tropicana is our winner. Closer to the parks, and the walls are not nearly as thin as the Fairfield Inn.

Tropicana has one of the best gift shops so that’s a plus! Have not stayed at either so let us know when you get back!

I have only stayed at the Fairfield and enjoyed my 3 night stay May 20-24th. Staff is super friendly. It was pretty quiet even though our room faced the Howard Johnson pool area. The toilets flush pretty loud though. There is no house keeping services during your stay, but extra/replacement towels were bought brought up immediately when I called. Valet services was great. Loved the Panera on property ( if you want breakfast, even coffee, in the morning before the parks, I would order very early, because orders get staked up with longer waits than anticipate). And at night, there is a line for the elevators (we opted to take the stairs to the 5th floor).

One important thing to consider, is that Fairfield wants you to move your vehicle off property at check out or by noon, which would cause it big problem If you plan on going to the parks on the day of check out. I would call each hotel and ask them about parking policy.

Fairfield and Tropicana are fairly close to each other, with Tropicana slightly closer. Both within a 5-7 minute walk which was GREAT And very convenient!!

Have fun on your trip!

+1 Tropicana, I've stayed at both, but Trops edges Fairfied out:

1) someone mentioned toilets
2) it's way closer -- not just the property lines, but you have to go deep in to get to the Fairfield building and then hustle up the elevator to your room. You don't have to cross the McD's drive-thru egress, either.
3) For some reason, the sound from McDonald's just amplifies. Early AM delivery truck backfired or something and woke us up.

My go to is the Best Western Park Place Inn Mini Suites, which is next door to the Tropicana but I have used the Tropicana's gift shop and will echo the previous comment about how good it is. They sell everything form fresh fruit and wine to souvenirs. I plan to shop there again on my upcoming trip.
