Just booked 6 rooms for $79 each at the Tropicana. I've heard the continental breakfast is a no go, which is fine. Location is good but I'm wondering about the rooms in general. It's been renovated so it must still be in pretty good standing, right? Any feedback is appreciated since I have time to change our plans if necessary.

I've stayed at the Tropicana and found it to be decent. Its clean, the rooms were a pretty decent size. You're right about the breakfast. All they have is danish, juice and coffee.

You might try right next door at the Carousel. I've always gotten a great rate there. And the breakfast is a little upgraded.

We have stayed at the Tropicana. It's a no frills hotel. We needed to be on a tight budget or we could not go, so this filled the bill. We were not in the rooms very much.
I did enjoy the hot tub after a long day and the pool wasn't too bad. No theme or fancy decor. I loved the location, right across the street.

We stayed at the Tropicanna for NYE 2003/04. It was an okay hotel, deffiently nothing special. The room was clean and we had no problems. The breakfast wasn't that bad, considering it was free. Danish and Muffins, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Not the best free breakfast I have had but not the complete worst either.

The tropicana has some nice suites that include kitchen facilities if you are interested.

We just used Hotwire and got the Hilton Suites for $70/night. It looks like a really nice property but it's about two miles away so A.R.T. would definitely have to be used.
