It's too early to tell yet...I certainly hope not. Just keep watching the weather this weekend...it should be interesting.

Even if it does hit FL, the storm will be long gone before you get here. It's still waaaaaay too early to freak out yet, they update the projected path constantly. And if it does stay on it's current path, so far they don't think it will strengthen into a hurricane since it's going over so much land. With these things, all we can do is watch and wait! But Disney has seen worse than a tropical storm, don't worry, the parks will still be there when you arrive!

I am leaving sunday night and I am totally freaking out my husband thinks I am crazy and he is yelling at me. I just want to get there I hope my flight is not delayed.

CHECK with the Airline NOW, they will be able to tell you if they will be cancelling flights. Its not suppose to REALLY hit till about 2:00pm Monday afternoon, so you maybe OK! I am arriving on Friday, and am hoping for minimal damage from this storm, so I can still go on the trip.:guilty:

the weather for sunsday in ny look good! sending u pixie dust for on time travels!!!:wizard:

Man, I think I must have the world's worst timing! We're supposed to fly in to MCO around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 19th. The National Hurricane Center official forecast has the center near Fort Myers/Sanibel by 2 pm Tuesday. The system still has the potential for significant development, but there is still a fair amount of model disagreement so there is still time for some modification to the track.

Going AirTran - does anyone know if they would cancel if it will be cutting it that close? I don't mind riding it out at WDW when I get there, but just getting there will be tricky if the timing/track is correct. :scared:

1) Today's weather said Fay will hit Central Florida on Tuesday afternoon.
2) The path could be East of West of Orlando.
3) But, orlando is expected to get the heavy rain on Mon-Tue-Wed.

Crud! :scared1: We're supposed to have a 7am flight Weds out of PHL . . . I just want to get there . . . then it can do whatever . . . ugh . . . I may have to go and say a novena/light some candles :sad2:

Good luck to us all!

Hope the weather clears up for your trip. We were there in July '05 during a hurricane (can't remember which one) & everything was fine. We were very concerned during our drive from Delaware, especially in GA when the northbound traffic of I95 got A LOT heavier, but it took a turn before we arrived at our resort. We spent the night in our room listening to the rain, watching movies, & headed out to MK the next morning. There were some trees down, but no major damage & the park was actually not crowded that day at all. :confused3 We got on all the rides we wanted without waiting more than 10 minutes. It only rained sporadically, when the storm bands went through, so we didn't even get wet. DS was 2 1/2 at the time & was really happy because we could ride the Pooh ride 5 times in a row - get off, get on. We joke that this was our best day in the park:laughing: I hope it all works out for you.

It's projection path is really vague right now, but they are estimating it to be "somewhere near" Florida by the middle of next week. We'll just have to wait it out and see where it decides to go. There is always the possibility of it heading toward Orlando, but they will only shut the park down under the most dire of circumstances. You can still have a good time as long as it isn't a direct hit by a powerful hurricane.

Whoo! We are driving down to WDW in the morning. Looks like we might get a little damp next week. Hopefully it will keep the crowds down. I ain't skeered of no stinkin rain!

OH NO... We are leaving Tuesday. This is the first I have heard of the storm. ( Been working a lot ). Let's all PRAY:worship:

Crud! :scared1: I may have to go and say a novena/light some candles :sad2:

:) I'm with ya on that one!

I'm hoping Fay goes right out to sea! A few years back we flew down between two hurricanes (Ivan was one, can't remember the other), and had beautiful weather, but we felt for the locals - lots of roofs damaged, then interiors of houses ruined in the next storm. We were glad to be there dumping money into the Orlando economy (had to do our part, didn't we?).

We also flew out of FL the day Katrina hit. No impact at MCO.

Whew, happy we are not leaving until next Friday. Hope nothing else is behind it. Good luck to everyone that will be down there earlier.:simba:

we are arriving on Monday afternoon. I sure hope we dont get delayed. Nothing yet on the airlines website re: anything at all for our flight.

I dont mind a little rain, but hope that Fay never gains the hurricane strength or it heads out to sea and fizzles. What are the odds? Who knows. I believe in miracles :rolleyes1

We are leaving in a few hours for Disney..... This is verrrrrrrry frustrating. I didn't get the no expiration option!!!!!!

Leaving now isn't much of a worry from what I've read. Like others have said, the parks will almost certainly be open and the temperatures will drop a bit. Not to mention clearing out the parks a bit! It's those of us arriving during the worst of it that have to worry! We arrive in Orlando on Tuesday at about 11:30am. At least, I hope we will be!

WESH 2 News keeps giving hourly updates and they are saying it could go east or it could go west of the panhandle. I just moved to florida a couple of months back so I'm being positive and probably naive that everything will be ok.

Right now, expected arrival time in Orlando is Tuesday afternoon. I hope no one's vacations are ruined!!!!!!!:sad2:

Meanwhile: Making list of hurricane preparedness essentials.

Just signing on to keep an eye on this thing. Best of luck to everyone headed down!
