We are arriving tomorrow morning and leaving Tuesday nights. I had dreams of spending the mornings and nights at the parks, and laying/playing at the pool in between

it looks like my plans may have a wrench thrown in them - any ideas for other things to do if so? I was thinking Cabana Bay Bowling and/or seeing Despicable Me 4 at City Walk, but haven't done either of those things yet

has anyone done parks in the rain? it doesn't seem like my idea of fun, but maybe i'm wrong and its great? LOL

we dont have a car but could uber to venture out if for something worth it - it's me, my husband and our 4 kids ages 10-14

Rain in the park is great because it’s fewer people but please know that there’s a big chance a lot of outdoor rides like roller coasters will close when there’s lightening nearby - I think Disney does this when it’s 40 miles away. If the tropical storm becomes too serious or is upgraded to a hurricane there are times the parks close early or open late to accommodate (usually because highways or roads are closed or there’s some local curfew in place). The resorts at Disney will have extra activities in this time, I’m sure Universal does the same.

Buy some waterproof shoe protector bags and ponchos on Amazon before your trip and pack them.

There is the Great Movie Escape in CityWalk - haven't done it yet but looks neat.
Pat O'Briens has nightly deuling pianos which are super fun! We go every trip since we "discovered" them!

Like @mickeytopolino said, the parks will be much quieter & you can have a fun memorable time. Outdoor coasters close in the rain (rain in your face at 50mph is not pleasant) and other outdoor rides close for lightening "nearby", but otherwise most rides will remain open.

Remember rain at 80*F is much more pleasant than rain in 60*F weather. As long as it isn't down pouring, you can still do lots of outdoor stuff - like spells in the wizarding world without shoulder to shoulder crowds.

We were there last August during a tropical storm. While the crowds were less than normal, we were shocked at how many people were still at the parks. Park hours did not change, but a few outdoor rides did close occasionally during the heaviest downpours. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be because you forget how often you are in a covered queue, restaurant, shop or indoor show. While I’m hoping to avoid a tropical storm during our visit later this month, I wouldn’t cancel a park visit because of one, we got on a ton of rides that day and it’s kind of fun to look back on.

Waterproof sandals that are comfortable for park touring will serve you well. If you can wade through a 4" puddle with no reservations, you are golden.

We have been there during one and it isn't too bad usually. Definitely try to hit Islands of Adventure first if it isn't raining as a lot of the rides there are outdoors so more likely to shutdown versus studios. With Studios having predominantly indoor attractions, it's operations aren't too affected by the weather but can result in smaller crowds for people not wanting to go out in it (especially locals with AP passes). You will mostly be outside walking to and from rides/restaurants/etc. and spend most of your time indoors for queues and rides so just bring a poncho for walking around in and won't be too bad.
When we went too it still wasn't constant rain, tended to be more later in the day so we could still enjoy the pools some at the start of the day or afternoons.

As mentioned additional activities for during rain are the theatre, dueling pianos, escape room, bowling at Cabana Bay, or karaoke at Rising Star. You can also see if there are any shows scheduled at Hard Rock. You can still have a great time on the trip regardless of weather, just trying to plan any outdoor stuff accordingly and hit it while you can when it is dry.
