You will hear some chatter in the next couple of days about Tropical Storm Bertha as it moves closer to the US. It looks like it will hit Puerto Rico on Saturday and the Dominican Republic on Sunday.

However, the storm is struggling, in a bad environment for development, and expected to recurve to the NE out into the Atlantic early next week. At present, it does not look like it will come close enough to even disrupt travel plans.

That said, these things sometimes have minds of their own, so keep an eye on this system.

It's looking a little too close for comfort for my upcoming cruise, I'm hoping the forecasters are right and it blows itself out.

Unless you're leaving in the next day or two, it won't be a problem. And even then, they'd just go around the storm.

When I saw this storm, I was a bit worried because we have a wedding we are going to on Long Island and are also going to Acadia National Park in Maine. But it should be long gone by then.
