On Tuesday I went to Cypress Gardens for the first time. What a beautiful place! One of the bushes we came across had the most amazing pink fluff ball type flowers. Here's a picture.

Unfortunatly there was no signs on the plant and no one around to ask what it was. If anyone here has any ideas, please post. I want one for my garden!

TIA!

Don't know about the plant. I love your blue heron picture!

PS. Tomorrow we'll be in Flamingo Gardens, it's by Miami, and I'll keep an eye out for something like your plant.

They have those all over Hawaii. They call them Ohia flowers. I have seen them at Animal Kingdom too. It is the only place I have seen them besides Hawaii.

I can't remember what those are called, but that is not an ohio. The ohio lehua is a tree and it has bright red, or yellow flowers. We even had this plant at our house before. I will check for the name when I go to a garden center the next time.

Your photo is not the flower I war referring to. The ones we saw in Hawaii were trees/shrubs like the first photo. At Animal Kingdom, they call them puffs. I'm quite sure there is a better name than that though! :D
