Hi all! Someone referred me to Tropical Palms Fun Resort in another thread, and I am really interested to know more about it. If you have stayed there before, please tell me any positive &/or negative comments you may have! I am trying to make ressie's by tomorrow for our Dec. cruise/WDW trip! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

thanks! :)

Make sure you make reservations by calling them on the phone. A few weeks ago I was booking one night here for my arrival night. i have wanted to try them out for a while. I book online and after entering my credit card info and pressing send it said there was an error and that they did not receive my information but my card had been charged!!!!! I e-mailed them and someone there apparently forwarded my message as I was copied on it but I have heard nothing from them yet!!! I will be calling shortly if I haven't heard form them. I did walk around the place once and it is neat. I really like the atmosphere and am looking forward to staying here...if I have a reservation.

Last year our family stayed at Tropical Palms for two nights. The units are basically RV's made to look like cottages. We rented a two bedroom. The units aren't large but do have more room than a regular hotel room. Dh & I had one bedroom. Our older son took the other bedroom & our younger son took the loft. The living/dining/kitchen area is small & all one space. Right outside the unit was a deck with a small picnic table. We enjoyed our stay there. The price was reasonable - we paid $79 per night. Our unit was very clean, the staff was helpful, we loved being able to park right in front of our unit, and there was a swimming pool, basketball court, & small cook to order coffee shop right off of the pool. The food was reasonably priced & we ate there each morning. Even though its right behind Old Town, we found Tropical Palms to be quiet & secluded. We didn't feel like we were in busy, bustling Kissimmee. They have a website. You may want to look up their units & see if it will work for your family.

We stayed there last Halloween. The units are a little small, the kitchen can be tight when cooking, but for the price it was definitely worth it! We ate breakfast there every morning and about half of our dinners for a 10 day trip. Saved a lot of money on eating costs that way. We had 7 people (4 kids under 3) in our 2 bedroom cottage. We didn't use the loft for sleeping, only for storing suitcases and purchases! But we did use both bedrooms and the sleep sofa. It was so great to put the kids to bed in the bedroom, shut the door and have them sleeping while we watched a hockey game on tv. The pool was heated and heaven after a tiring day walking around the parks. It is an easy commute to WDW, only took us 5-10 minutes to get to any park's parking lot. We are staying there again this October.

Stayed there for two weeks - beginning Sept. 9th, 2001.. Absolutely LOVED it and would go back in a heartbeat!

The only possible drawback is that there aren't any telephones in the units.. Wasn't a problem for us though as everyone had cell phones..

Try it - you'll like it!!!!;)

You guys are the best! This place definitely looks interesting. The only thing that I would hate would be the drive. We stayed near DD last year, and it was heaven being so close to everything!

Thanks again! ;)
