tropical night

Sorry to have so many questions over the last few days, but I am under a month now, time to get serious!!!

On tropical night, what type clothes is usually worn by men and boys? For my husband I was going to pack a tropical print camp shirt and khaki pants.. For my sons, 5, 7, 9 do they wear the same, or can they wear nice shorts with the shirts that night?

I think you will be fine to let the boys wear nice shorts with the shirts! That's what we did(8 year old twins). Did not feel they were underdressed at all. You won't believe what you'll see!! My husband did wear long pants every night. I wore a khaki skort the last night and felt a little funny. After a few nights you forget to even look at what others are wearing because of the excitement! Have a great trip!!!

It is definitely fine for the men and boys to wear shorts on Tropical Night.

Shop around in St. Maartens..............On the Dutch side: we bought wonderful shirt/shorts for hubby for $3 and an outfit for me for $3. If you wander over to the French side of the island.......... there is a great market place also which sells a fantastic range of suitable clothes for the Caribbean.

Some of our favorite pictures were from Tropical night!! All the brightly colored outfits were so beautiful and to add to the festivity we were lucky to be in Parrot Cay. The men loved the idea they could get away wearing shorts with their tropical shirts!

On last week's Magic there were plenty of men and boys in shorts and tropical shirts....they were fine, not out of place at all. Actually, about 95% of the guests were tropical attire on tropical night, plus they give you lei's at dinner, so everyone looks festive no matter what they are wearing!!!! The crew and characters also all dress tropical!!!!

Hi - I just noticed that you are on the 2/8 Eastern as are we... We're planning to do some shopping in St. Maartens for the Tropical night... please check out the 2/8/03 Eastern thread as there are a few of us who are planning to meet on board. Our DD will be 9 when we cruise and is looking forward to making new friends in the Clubs...

Is this themed different on the Western? Is it tropical island dress or Mexican?? What's with the leis? Hawiian? DH has a Mexican Wedding shirt that he was going to wear, but he has great Hawiian type shirts too. Do people dress Mexican or what? I planned to dress in some Mexican shawl, blouse, etc. Should I wear a flowered shirt instead??

For DH (and you for that matter) anything from Tommy Bahama would do just nicely.
