Are Khaki shorts for boys/men acceptable on this night? And capri pants for girls/women? I tried to search, but the search funtion has been disabled.

In the navigator for this day it says "Suggested Evening Attire: Mexican, Tropical, Casual (No shorts or jeans please)" - Mike

I had a little inkling thinking that was the case for the guys....that's okay I already had the khaki slacks in the bag, they'll be fine. I just didn't want glares from them if I made them wear pants and everyone else was in shorts!

What about capri pants on women? Acceptable or not?

Thanks!

We are following the guidelines for dinner but for the party later on we are changing back into shorts. I have read threads here that some people actually wear shorts to dinner for this night. - Mike

Thanks CAMICKEY, this helps! We'll just plan on wearing the pants......then they can change afterwards if they want.

Princess Tink, I'll be in capri pants most nights at dinner. Except the formal of course.

I've worn them in the past and felt just fine.

I plan on wearing capris to dinner on non-formal nights also.

Yikes... I thought I remembered several people saying the dress code indicated "shorts are acceptable in all dining rooms for tropical night" or something to that effect.... can anyone confirm that?? We leave for Orlando tomorrow morning and I am already packed!!!

Thanks,
Linda

Linda, you might want to start a new thread to get your question answered. Personally, I have never heard anything about shorts being acceptable in the restaurants on tropical nights, for dinner.

This Navigator says: "Tropical Attire" (look at Tropicali Dinner, under Dining) and then next to the dinner times it says: NO SHORTS OR JEANS PLEASE.

Sorry, that link doesn't take you directly to the page I wanted. On the left side, click on Tuesday (St. Maarten) Page 4.

We cruised in March and shorts were definitely allowed on tropical night. I can't recall where we saw the note - I think it may have been a separate little box on the Navigator.

There has been a change with the New Western Navigators that Dave from Marietta just posted (from April) at his site. It now says""Suggested Evening Attire: Mexican, Tropical, Casual (No jeans please). This is different from the last Navigator which I believe was posted in March (see previous post). I now plan on wearing shorts, sandals, and a colorful shirt. YEA - Mike

Thanks Cherylbug. The Navigator for that day has changed but is still misleading. I posted what I founbd in the other newer thread. I hope you can wear shorts but do not want to be under dressed as well. - Mike

My DH wore shorts and a Corona shirt for Mexicalli night, I wore beige capris and a white blouse...we were not underdressed. You will be amazed at some of the attire you see on the ship...stuff I would only wear if I was cleaning the house.

We were on the 4/10 western cruise. On the cover of the navigator, it stated "suggested evening attire: mexican, tropical, casual (no jeans please)", while all the other nights said no jeans or shorts. However, on the back of the navigator, where it lists your dining options, it stated "suggested dress: tropical, casual-no shorts or jeans please". I think if you just read the cover you would assume shorts are OK, but the back still requests that you don't wear shorts. Seems a little misleading to me. I would say more people wore slacks than shorts, but we did see a mix of both.

It sounds like they just forgot to change the last page of the Navigator.
