Okay I held my breath through Francis, changed my week for Ivan to the week of Sept 19th and now I see what they are calling "Tropical Depression 11", is that one anything to worry about during the week of the 19th??? Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm in the same boat. We changed from the 8th - 15th to 22nd to the 29th. Its kind of early to say what its going to do but to me it looks like it started further North than the others so maybe it will hook and go out to sea. We can only hope.

Let's hope so, at this point they don't seem to concerned....at the point when Ivan started the had the southest being leveled...I know it is better safe than sorry though.

I don't think I'd be worrying too much over this depression yet. There's no real data to tell us anything on it yet. I had read about it earlier today as well.

You don't need to worry about a storm until they give it a name!!
ADP :D

My father in law told me it was named Jean(?) but I bet he was misunderstanding the weather people. They probably said *IF* TD11 were to strengthen to a Tropical Storm the next name on the list is Jean(?).

Hey cdpa4d - I'm in Westfield! :wave2:

Nooooooooooooooooo, Say it ain't so !!!

No more hurricanes, no more storms period !!!
And certainly not during the week of the 25th pirate:

No name yet, thank goodness....but if it materializes it will be Jean.

If TD11 gets a name, I think the name will be Jeanne. My question is, does anyone else study the weather board like I do? I don't go until middle of October, but I have a lot of family down there. But I have been studying weather.com everyday trying to see if any storms coming off Africa could possibly form into a hurricane. I just want to make sure that I'm not the only one studying the board.

Thanks for letting me blab! :p

God bless the hurricane victims and keep them strong!

Chris

The local 24 hour news channel reported on this one and said if it makes it to us it won't be very strong. Probably just a tropical storm or depression.

Hi neighbor. Any trips to the world planned soon? I am going for pleasure in October and for business in November. Can't wait. Staying at AKL in Oct. and CBR in Nov.

Way too early to be looking at this kind of stuff. As we see with Ivan and Charlie (and up my way, the remnants of Gaston and Frances) they don't even know where named storms are going to go a day in advance...much less weeks in advance.

Last night it was clocking 30 mph winds-not far off from a tropical storm (think 35 is the cut off but I may be wrong). They were saying that it might hit the east coast, but Bermuda seems to be the likely target as of then. Havent seen todays update yet though.

and it looks like it will be in the atlantic near or parallel to FLA by middle of next week. I hope it stays in the Atlantic for all Floridians sake. Plus we are scheduled to visit then as well. Although peole's homes and welfare are more important than a Disney trip let's not forget!

Well it is now named Jeanne. I am going to Disney on the 25th and I am really afraid the weather will be bad. I have 2 small children and a husband who will just want to stay in the hotel if it is raining. :( I hope the weather is ok.

As for you folks on the coast. My prayers are with you as Ivan approaches.

This is more hurricanes that I have seen one month that I can remember. Is this a record?

I am getting somewhat concerned about Jeanne. We are leaving on the 18th for 7 nights...... If it takes the projected path, we could be in for some crummy weather :(
Anyone else going next week concerned about this???

Here is hoping she doesn't hit Florida. I heard this am they expect to go to hurrican status soon. I was so looking forward to this trip and I don't want to be flying in bad wind/rain!!!!

Leaving on the 21st and yes I am concerned. :( I am becoming a Weather Channel junkie!

DeDixie:

Don't worry about flying in bad weather/rain because they will probably cancel the flight. We were scheduled to fly down on Sept 4th and Frances cancelled that, then for the evening of the 3rd - Frances cancelled, then for the morning of the 3rd - Frances cancelled, then for Sunday the 5th - you guessed it - Frances cancelled. We ended up driving down on Sunday and getting a refund. We waiting to leave until the storm had time to get through Orlando (my sister lives there and was updating us ;) ) and we had beautiful weather all week long.

Good luck!
