has anyone heard any news of a sequel to tron legacy? i know a cartoon series is in the works, but i'm hoping for an additional movie.

The director said they are trying to make it into a complete trilogy (with the 80s version)...another movie is virtually guaranteed.

I hope so, I loved Legacy. My 14 year old said it was the best movie she's ever seen becuase of the integration of sights and sounds. Daft Punk's score was incredible.

This is one of the very few movies that I have wanted yet another sequel. I don't know what it is about Tron that I find so interesting, but I do. I'd also love to see Disney do a Tron attraction in Future World. Could be a great replacement for EO (but then anything would be an improvement there).

I hope they do better this time. Looks like I'm in the minority here, but that was so weak! And I'm a hard-core fan of the original.

Great news - thanks for the responses! i love the original and tron legacy. and i agree with another poster, i would love to see more of tron in the parks. it is cool to see the tronorail while at epcot!

or maybe they'll finally open the TRON Arcade that was planned for Communicore/Innoventions that never surfaced. That could be cool

ive never heard that about the tron arcade - sounds great. i wonder if it's still a possibility?

In 1982 Tron was revolutionary, but still tough to watch due to the lack of special effects available. Watching it today is painful.

However, Tron Legacy did a fantastic job of bringing the original Tron world into today. It was visually stunning and again, the score was fantastic.

lugnut33, don't get me wrong. The new film was beautiful to look at, but there were so many holes in the plot, problems with story line, etc. Here's a few:

Do programs really need to eat? Were those green bean.exe files?!?!

If water is life, as we learned in the first film, why would you want an umbrella?

If the core is so hard to get to, why is there a train that takes you right there?

Also, I felt there was more 3D in the coming attractions then in the movie.

Again, just my humble opinion.

1) I don't know, haven't watched it in a while, I'll have to re-see it.

2) Was it water? I always thought it was energy, like a stream of energy or knowledge, not really water.

3) Probably built by Flynn before the evil ones took over. Flynn wanted access/knowledge for all.

4) I hate 3D.

They could theme a section of Disney Quest to be Tron-esque. I loved the visuals in Legacy - it would be amazing if they could pull that off - but I'm sure a maintenance nightmare. I'd really love a 3rd installment of the movie.

It was planned for what became Rocking Robots then was a seating area. It's a large open space that if it was the Tron arcade, it would have state of the art video games and would tie into the Tron world. Not knowing much about Tron, I don't know how to describe the concept sketch(es) I saw on the video :confused3 If you'd like I could find the Martin Smith video I heard about the plan on

Yes, OMG I can't stand watching the old Tron movie-it really is painful lol. Not that it's a bad movie, but it hurts my eyes! `

I loved the new one, even if just for the visuals rather than the plot. I thought that the plot was decent enough but the visuals blew me away! We saw it twice at IMAX.

I love watching the original, great film today - it is a living breathing history lesson. Compare state of the art CGI from 1982 with that in Avatar and imagine where it'll be in another 25 years.

Legacy was fantastic, and as Lugnut33 said, the Daft Punk score was amazing.

Next time at least try to not quote a webcomic line for line.
