My initial reaction: I really want to like this as I’m a big Tron fan. This trailer is pretty. I’m not sure the movie it is based on is “good.”

I want to like it too, but am unsure. I am not the biggest fan of Leto - I mean, he's a bit odd, no? Also, I want them to pick up on the threads from Legacy. I understand it's been a while and they can't get all the same actors, but at least mention it. No Bruce Boxleitner? That's tough to deal with.

That said, the traler is pretty cool looking. I really hope they do pull off something good with it. I really want TRON to succeed - I'm always rooting for it.

I've just rewatched Legacy and like you I'm intrigued to see how, if at all, they'll pick up from the ending of Legacy. From what I've read online it's a bit up in the air as to whether Ares is a sequel or a reboot (or a requel?), but it's going to be very disappointing if there isn't any decent reference to the characters or events from the previous film.
