Trivial question about carry on booze...

Hi, we're going on our first family cruise soon (Med, yay). Me and husband love drinking wine and beer on holiday and due to the onboard prices we are planning to take the max amount of carry on wine/beer. My question is
-if we take wine in our carry on bag, do we have to walk around with it on our first day or is there somewhere to store it until our room is ready? I don't think I could face carrying a couple of heavy bottles for a few hours! Thanks for answering my trivial question! I'm sure we'll love the cruise whatever the answer!

You will have to keep it with you until the rooms are ready around 1:30. Many people use a wheeled suitcase to store their beverages. Any bag must be able to fit through a scanner.

Ah! Wheeled suitcase is an excellent idea! Presumably if it was one of the small ones that you can use as carry on luggage on a plane that would be OK to go through a scanner?

Yes, the scanner is just like the scanners at airport security checkpoints. A bag that you use as a carry on for a flight would fit just fine.
