Trivia Question Regarding BWV point price?

I wish I would have done this sooner keeps going through my mind!! Yes I was at OKW in 1993 when the DVC was in it's early stages and thought I could never afford this!! Well, here I am 11 years later, and under contract at BWV!! So I can really kick myself, does anyone know when Boardwalk started selling and at what price?

When we bought in Jan. 1999 the price was 63.50 per point. It went up soon after that. But - it will be worth it even at today's prices. Enjoy your membership!

I think only SSR is $89. I heard any add-ons becoming available at other resorts are only $84 because they are less years.

I actually read the same thing on these boards about 84.00 per point for the "sold out" resorts. Sorry I misunderstood the question as being the general price of DVC points through Disney.

I bought in late 1996 at OKW for $62.75 per point. But my subsequent add ons (okw and HH) were the real deals at $48 per point with my CM discount combined with whatever buyback discount they were running at the time! good deal!

I actually paid $59 if you count magical beginnings. At that time, they only allowed a maximum of 150 points for magical beginnings for phone sales. I bought 250, I sold 150 back and banked 100 (got April use year in September, so a few months later I got another 250).

After many years visiting WDW, we finally wised up and bought at BWV ($70/point via resale). We're in the process of closing at this very moment.

Don't let the earlier prices eat away at you. The deal you got might not be so far out of line with those you see on this thread. Sure, we have fewer use years between now and 2042, but when you take into account inflation, the differences in point price aren't so drastic as they might seem.

In 2003 dollars, $62.75 (1996) becomes $73.50. $65 in 1999 dollars translates to $71.75. I figure our $70/point wasn't such a bad deal, plus we got a slew of banked points. On top of that, we're more financially secure than we were a few years back, which means no interest payments.

If you read through all the purchases reported in this forum, some folks manage to get better deals than others. Hey, good for them! The bottom line is, you're now able to buy something you never thought you'de be able to afford. Relax and enjoy it with your family!

BWC opend 6/30/96 when the point price was $62.75. I don't know what pre-opening offers they had or when they started to sell points there.
