tritons dress code

We were just on the MAGIC last week. Although they have Lumiere's instead of Triton's, they are basically the same type of restaurant.

It is NOT required to wear a jacket or suit coat in either of these restaurants. In fact, the recommended dress is casual (no shorts or jeans, please).

The only restaurant they recommend men to wear a jacket/suit coat is Palo's.

Although they're similar restaurants, they have different suggested dress.

The Navigators at http://www.dcltribute.com indicate that Triton's, on the Disney Wonder, has "Suggested dress: Jacket recommended, no shorts or jeans please."

In comparison, for most nights, Lumiere's, on the Disney Magic, has "Suggested dress: Casual, no shorts or jeans please."

I assume that's because the Magic has set formal and semi-formal nights, which the Wonder doesn't have. So the Wonder has a dressier rotation restaurant instead.

On both ships, Palo has "Suggested dress: Jacket recommended, no shorts or jeans please."

By the way, please note that this is not a dress code, merely suggested dress. So a suit coat or sport coat is not required, just recommended.

Triton's *DOES* ask that you wear a sports coat.

The Magic was the same way, asking that a coat be worn in Lumiere's, when it only sailed the three and four night cruises.

The reason that Lumiere's suggested dress was changed is due to the fact that many people will dine in that restaurant for a total of three times. Disney may have figured that this was too many nights to ask people to wear a coat.

Dress up, have fun, enjoy your vacation! Dine in style! :)

We found out about this recommendation a few days before we cruised. Needless to say, we didn't have time to rush out and get different clothes. So we went, as planned, and in the back of our mind worried a bit. My dh was dressed in khaki's and a nice polo and was right about in the middle of the road, clothing wise. To the table on our left was two couples, both men in jackets. To the table on the right was a family of 6, all in tie dyed shirts, shorts and sandals. Well, except for the teenage girl. She was in a spaghetti strap type halter top with a way too short skirt. Needless to say, we did NOT feel underdressed at Tritons!
