TripRewards, a free hotel reward program, has combined the reward programs of AmeriHost Inn, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Knights Inn, Ramada, Super 8 Motel, Travelodge, Villager, and Wingate Inn. In some cases, this new card replaces the hotel's original reward/discount program.
At their website (www.triprewards.com), you can "join" and request a card be sent to you that is shown when you check in to get points toward "rewards" consisting of free hotel nights, travel rewards, entertainment rewards, gift certificates, magazine rewards, charitable donation rewards, merchandise rewards, and Canadian gift certificate rewards. Example: 5,500 points will get you a $25 certificate for Olive Garden. 4,000 points will get you an Entertainment Coupon Book.
There is also an 800 number in case you have problems or questions.
The points seem to add up very quickly and, for a free program, it seems worth the effort.
