Triple stroller or double+single?

We are going to need 3 stroller seats for our next trip. I’m debating whether to get a triple stroller or bring both a single and a double. (I know there are size restrictions and the triple I am looking at - Zoe Trio+ - meets Disney’s standards.) Any opinions? I think they’ll be relatively similar in difficulty getting on/off transportation because one of the seats of the triple detaches to fold it - so either way we basically have 2 strollers to fold and wrangle on the bus. I’ll baby wear the littlest as much as I can but I know it’s going to be hot so we definitely need a stroller option. I looked into doubles with the glider board but I think my oldest still needs an actual seat, not a spot to stand.

Would love to hear from anyone else who has managed 3 littles on how they did it!

We have an Englacha Junior X rider board with seat (weight capacity of 55 lbs). I think the newer model might be called the cozy rider. We use it with a single stroller, but it can attach a double Bob. I only have 2 kids, but I always say if I ever have a 3rd, I might need to do that.

You have to detach it to fold the stroller, but it is a lot easier to carry than a 2nd stroller.

I brought my triplets twice when they were 5, used strollers for both trips.

I would highly recommend a good, sturdy double and then an umbrella single which, when needed, you can fold up and lay over the canopy/handle of the double. We did this with a double Bob first trip, double umbrella the second.

Now, obviously, my use case was different than yours, but here was our thinking: we wanted seats for all 3 so that they were contained during rope drop and could rest when we were leaving the parks at night. At 5, they weren't using strollers anywhere else but I wasn't keeping them up past bedtime and then telling them to walk out of Fantasmic in my day-to-day, either. We were planning a trip that pushed them well past their normal night limit and I wasn't going to force them to walk that late. Also, during rope drop and when moving between sections of the park, it was much easier to have them all contained so that adults could just walk at a normal pace without watching for little, distractible people in a crowd. We needed 3 seats for those times.

That said, we also had plans that left 1 adult with 3 kids. They weren't quite 44", so rider swapping was going to happen at a few rides and the non-riding parent needed to be able to traverse the park. That's when we put 2 in the double, folded the single onto the handlebars, and had the 3rd kid hold the stroller while we walked. I did that while Hubby rode Everest. He did it while I rode FoP, etc. Also, when stroller parking was tight, we could put the single on the double to park both in one space and it was much easier to find later because it was so obvious.

As to buses, the kids were old enough to get in the bus themselves by that point, so we each took a stroller. But, at 1:00am when I had 3 out cold after a MNSSHP, Hubby started loading the kids into the bus one at a time while I broke down strollers as they emptied and it was fine. The double in the bus is a PITA but the umbrella isn't.

My biggest concern with the Zoe would be navigating the parks. I know it's technically in the size guidelines, but, by being both a wide and a long stroller, it's going to be a tough squeeze in certain places. And, I can practically guarantee that someone is going to trip over your front kid because they come from behind trying to cut you off, go to turn in front of you, and then realize there's more stroller there. Heck, I had people trip over the wheel of the Bob because they cut it too close trying to cut me off and that was just a regular double. I've never used the Zoe (mine were moving out of strollers when it came out) but I've operated a few other triple stores, wagons, etc. The double feels so breezy by comparison, yet it was tight in Disney crowds. The double/single gives much better options to get where you're going without getting stuck. Also, I'm not sure how bulky/obnoxious the Zoe attachment seat is compared to an umbrella stroller for folding and loading/unloading.

Because it's one of my favorites, our family asleep after a full MNSSHP. Only 2 of us are posing :-)

I’m not sure how old your kids are or where you’re staying (impacts transportation). Our 3 kids were born within 3 1/2 yrs for reference. We rented a double citi mini and a single citi mini for a few trips and had no problem. I also baby wore during ride lines and on the bus. Sometimes I would be alone with the kids while hubby rode a ride but I could just babywear and push the double while the single was parked in stroller parking.

we have done 2 doubles on 2 separate occasions. My kids were 6, 4, 2 and 7 mo last time. we did a city mini GT and a double maclaren umbrella. Getting on and off the bus is super hard, but the umbrella stroller can be thrown over your shoulder or stowed on the other stroller. Also, I don't know how old your kids are, but we would park the umbrella stroller for long periods of time, then get it when my bigger kids got too tired to walk or we were going long distances.

Thank you for all the detailed responses!! This is so helpful. I should have also mentioned, we'll be traveling with someone in a wheelchair that'll need to be pushed as well, which made me lean slightly toward the triple but I like the idea of being able to fold the single and have my oldest just hold a hand/the stroller when necessary. So many considerations!! We are staying at the Poly the first half of the trip (which can be hit or miss...sometimes we aren't asked to fold a stroller on the monorail or boat and sometimes we are), and Animal Kingdom the second half (when we'll be folding up for the buses every time).

This is such a cute photo!!

Smart - I'll definitely be bringing our Ergo no matter what we decide to do stroller-wise!

I hadn't thought of this! My four year old can probably do some long stretches without the stroller so maybe we will do this and save his stroller for when we really need it.

also say for some reason you have to take the baby somewhere that you do not want the baby in the carrier that leaves the single for next one up. on one trip needed to take baby to care while older one was in line for a ride. she was not happy with the walk to baby center and we only had 2 littles
