Today, my DH's parents were coming to visit us. We booked them a room at the YC so that they could spend extra time with our DS. They moved about an hour north of Tampa last December and we have only seen them once since they moved. They arrived about 9:30 and just raved about the hotel. We grabbed a quick bite in the lobbey while I got them checked in. They informed us that although we were paying for their hotel room and all food expenses, they weren't going to buy park tickets. This made us a bit upset b/c they have taken other grandchildren to Disney, Busch Gardens and Sea World this year and paid for the kids. I think they were hinting for us to buy them tickets, but at this point, my DH was frustrated and we decided to keep busy doing things outside of the parks. Since it was a beautiful and hot day, we decided to hit Stormalong Bay. We spent a lot of time in the pool today, which was good considering it was the only time we made it to the pool during our entire vacation! Our son loves the sand bottom and zero entry. We had a lifevest that I had purchased while we were in Boca and it worked great at Disney too! We grabbed some snacks and drinks at Hurricane Hanna's and then took DS into the other parts of the pool as well. About 1 pm, we decided to grab some lunch at Beaches-n-Cream. We all had burgers and DH and I still think that they have the best burgers on site! Afterwards, we walked through the lobbey and DS plopped himself on the miniature sofa to watch some toons! We figured that all of that sun and swimming would take its toll on him, so we returned to the room for a family nap. My in-laws actually got the room next to us. We told them it would be at least 2.5 hours and to go enjoy themselves for a bit. DS and DH fell right to sleep. I wrote out some postcards and sat on the balcony for a while. Two hours later, my FIL knocked on the door. They were a bit anxious for DS to wake up, so of course, the knocking woke him up. He woke up a bit cranky, so we told them that we'd be over in a half an hour.
My in-laws spent naptime walking around the resort, touring the lobbey and just taking pictures of everything! They were sooo impressed with the resort. It was by far the nicest hotel they've ever stayed at. We were so glad that we were able to treat them to this visit. Since we had made plans to eat at Alfredo's in Italy at Epcot, and they wouldn't buy tickets, we made alternate plans. I called dining and was able to get a PS for Spoodles on the Boardwalk. So, we walked over to the Boardswalk and shopped a bit and explored. We enjoyed our dinner at Spoodles, but we thought the menu was a bit limited. My MIL ordered a salad b/c she said she couldn't find anything on the menu that she liked. Afterwards, we got our DS's characature done from one of the vendors. Erick did a great job! We will have it framed and it makes a great souvenir. We strolled around the resorts and stopped to sit on some chairs on the beach in front of the YC. DS had fun playing in the sand. We spent more time in the arcade and then again watching toons in the lobby. Then we called it a night. We told them that we'd knock on their door in the morning when we were all up and ready.
